Chincoteague

#80745 Posted on 2016-12-18 11:20:14

So, I decided a mall herd of Chincoteague, but can't decide what to put them in. It looks like drivings the most popular, but I'd rather do one of the next two, dressage or show jumping. Any suggestions? I'm pretty new to the breed in general and also don't know what are the desired colors/patterns for them. They are just adorable though.

I breed them in Endurance, and all I know, really, is that he is a rare color (Only five of his color on the game).

(Also, totally agree with you with the adorableness factor)

I am the current Chincoteague Club president, and I have one of (if not the) largest herds of Chincoteagues in the game. Mine are show jumping. If you include locked horses, show jumping Chincoteagues are by far the most popular specialty - 14 pages in the horse search, as opposed to the next most popular, which is Endurance with 7 pages.

Silver, champagne, flaxen, and pangare are very desirable colors in the breed. Overo and splash are pretty rare patterns.

Feel free to ask me any questions.

Go for any uncommon colors... like any champagnes and such. Even the "rare" colors of wild bay and seal brown aren't as rare as they once were since everybody makes/buys/recolors-with-an-item them. Just get very creative when making custom horses :p
I personally try to get rabicanos, duns, champagnes, and flaxen/silver/sooty/pangare.

I'm not currently going to be making any customs. I might use recoloring tools, but I don't go as far as customs (I'm too broke to go that far.). I love sootys, and hope to aquire quite a few.

The point still stands, though. Go outside of the box with any very-colorful breed. :P

If you decide on show jumping, and need some help getting a rare color in your herd, I may be willing to let you breed a couple mares to some of my stallions. I don't have my stallions up for stud these days, but I do have several examples of all the rare colors, so I would consider giving you a boost there. I've got really good stats, so that would be a bonus as well. But I don't want to breed them to any specialty other than Show Jumping, because cross-breeding like that makes for poor show horses. All mine are strictly treated for speed and agility, and I want to breed them to horses that match in that area.

I've decided to go with show jumping. It seems to be by far the most popular.
