What are the benefits of locking horses?

nothing. they just don't age, need care, or anything like that- but you can't do anything with them. it's like they're frozen.

It prevents them from aging (basically time stops running for them) so for example, you had two different horses that you paired together, it would be beneficial to lock one until they are the same age.

The benefit is if you don't have time to care for your all of your horses you can lock a division or two and work with the ones you do. Or if you are going to be really busy, don't have time for any but still want to chat with people on the forums you can lock your horses and not your whole account. Or you can have a division, like I do, where you lock the horses until they either are the same age as their chosen mate or you feel like working with them :)

right now I have my Clydesdales locked because I'm too busy to care for them; after Christmas they will once again be unlocked and I'll continue to care for them.
