flowers and horses

So, this is an art piece I'm currently working on. I'm basically posting it to get any feedback at all. Do you like the basic idea or should I scrap it? Should I add some sort of background, and if I do do you have any suggestions? I was thinking maybe a night sky, and or trees or a grassy plain. The dark blue background is just there because it looks better with a darker backgrounds and will be scrapped for something better. I know the eye needs work, but I'm not really sure how to improve it. Any advice would be great.

I feel like it's hard to see with a dark background. ;)
Also, the one horse looks too yellow for my taste...

the horses colors will be replaceable. I just picked two random horse colors to put in for this one. I mostly need help on the lines, background ideas, etc. Thank you for replying though.

Umm... I'm guessing Crimson Wolf and SilverWolves are the same person???

the grass in the background (I think it's there) is nice, but maybe it could be during the day? it's a bit too dark to properly see things
