How should I handle my spare account horses?

#71399 Posted on 2016-10-08 15:52:55

This is more of a question based on the most popular opinion.

So, I have two spares. One is full of sort-of-cool colored various breeds, but that's not the subject of my question. They're locked and will probably be let to die off later on. But the spare I'm asking about is my unlocked spare with lots of very-rare-colored QHs. However, while there's only 24, that's 12 whole breeding pairs that I'll have to make all at one time. Plus, I'm not level 6 on there yet, and lots of the horses are older, so... what if they die while I'm trying to gain XP? So, here's some choices that I'm considering. You guys can comment which you would do!

Option 1:
Lock them until next summer, or at least a big break from school (like winter break). I was going to unlock them this summer and work on them, but I didn't, so I don't know if this would work or not...

Option 2:
Tough it out and make breeding pairs anyway. This may not work, though, because I don't have a lot of horses and will need to gain XP fast before some of them die.

Option 3:
Transfer the rarest ones to this account to use as studs/broodmares, and let the others die off. Seriously considering this idea.

Option 4:
Transfer all of them (except the grays) to this account, and transfer all my old stock horses to that account to die off. The problem with this is that I want my old stock to die on this account, not a random spare that I never bred TBs on.

Lock the older ones, work on training the younger ones, and when you hit level 6 lock whoever is needed until they get to the same age/the age you want to breed them. That's a time commitment though.

Alternatively, buy some rescue center horses, lock your QHs, and train the rescue center horses until you hit the required XP.

I think I'll do the first thing you suggested. After all, after only 2 days of group riding schooling, I'm already 1/4 done with level 5!
