Consistently losing money

maybe i just have really good luck? i'm only in the hole right now because i have no impulse control and because when the game first relaunched i upgraded my stables and spent a lot of money on tack, etc.

i made $20k on this account today from: money my horses made in shows, entry fees from shows i've created, games, fountain, and tack i had in the item market. that 20k DOESN'T include what i gathered as interest on what i had in the bank.

on my two spares, i made between 7k and 10k on each account.

i really don't know what to tell you guys who are losing money every day, aside from breaking down what i do every day.

first i go to the junk yard. if it's something i can't/won't use, i put it up for sale in the item market (i think i'm selling bridles for $100, saddles for $200, and trunks for $500). then i hit up the fountain and wish for money. after that i go to the games tent and usually start out with higher or lower. the trick to higher or lower is statistics - if the number is five or lower then you should guess higher, if it's 6 or higher then you should guess lower. when i'm done with higher or lower i go to the coin flip where i wager 1000 on each flip and stick with either heads or tails for the whole ten flips.

as far as shows go, i tend to stick with the lower or mid levels when i make them, and i create dressage, driving, and show jumping every day (once i'm not so badly in the hole i'll have an arena for each discipline).

i auto-show all of my horses and go with the "cheapest" option. i've literally never lost money on shows that way.

i don't make art or sell credits or anything. everything i've made on this game since the recode has come from sources within the game.

Okay... just did some numbers. I'm out of the red so that awesome. I AM making profit but not from shows. If it weren't for higher or lower and my daily interest I'd be losing around 2000 to 3000 a day! I don't know if my horses just suck at shows or if it really isn't a good way for me to make money. Fortunately I CAN afford it but I'm concerned about the losses as my herd increases in size.

People mention a daily allowance? Is this the interest? Because my daily interest is sometime only $100? (I sold peppermints today so am aware i need to put more in the bank tonight)

Yea it's the interest :/ It's not a whole lot for people just starting out or those who don't have a lot in the bank yet. It's not a reliable way to make money but it's a starting point. The system just requires you to be careful with your money (which you would have to do in real life too) :p

At the fountain, I got some serious $$ by wishing for the horses. $7000 and nearly $5000. Also I'm doing ok on the coin toss.
