Bidding - EVC?

#70702 Posted on 2016-10-03 15:43:17

When bidding on a horse, maybe you can bid with credits?

Edit: I've seen some of you say that it should also be a direct sale purchase method, and I think that's an awesome idea as well and I fully support that :D

If EVC was a stagnant price then I would support this. However since the price of EVC is different depending on each members opinion and the evc trade standard I don't think this is a fair method of payment to bid with.

I would actually like to add this as an alternative method to purchase/sell horses, but I will leave it up to user decision :)

I'd love to see this, maybe it would be an option that could be checked when listing a horse for sell. So that members who don't want EVC in exchange for their horses would have that option.

I'd argue that it's plenty fair because since each member's view of EVC value is slightly different, they can decide whether it's worth 1 or 5 credits, just as they can decide if they'll accept 50k or 150k for a horse.

I think this is a great idea for people who can't spend real life money on EV credits to have another way of getting them besides trying to buy them in the credit sales.

I would definitely only support if it were optional and up to the individual player, so a seller could list both an EVC and an EVD price, but in that case I think it would be a great feature!

Do you think players should be allowed to *only* set an EVC price? I'm not sure there's any way to keep that from happening, but I would worry about potential buyers feeling like the "premium" currency is suddenly required for play. Though I think there'd still be plenty of people selling horses for EVD, or selling credits for EVD.

I think it would be nice to have that avenue to earn credits, as the secondary market for them is unpredictable.

I think it should be optional because not all people can earn credits without buying them :)

My ideal way of implementing this would be:

Allow owner of the horse to set a buyout price in EVD only, EVC only, or a mixture of EVD and EVC. Bidding will be allowed for all 3 types of buyout price. When a horse is for sale for both EVD and EVC, bidding over the top of one of the currencies will be allowed.

For example;

A horse is put up for 1EVC and $100k.
Members can bid over $100k if they are only bidding in $.
Members can bid over 1EVC if they are only bidding in EVC.

Sounds really cool! That feature would be awesome, and I agree with others that it would be a great way of earning EVC without buying them
