When you see a gelding in the RC...

I saw a nice horse in the Rescue Center. He was a grullo paint. He was gorgeous. BUT HE WAS A DING-DANG GELDING! I COULD'VE GOT SOME NICE BABIES OUT OF HIM! T_T

Yup.

It's up to the original owner of the horse. Sure it protects the lines and the chances of the horse being overbred, but it sure does stink for everyone else :)

Agree with Notori.

I actually geld 90% of my males that I send to RC. (The grullo was probably one of mine, I'm not positive though) I have many reasons for it. It protects the lines and such, but also all of them are up for sale beforehand and don;t sell. Soooo, if they don;t sell as a stallion, I send them to RC as a gelding. I just prefer to do things that way. ;P

I totally understand bred horses being gelded before being put into the RC.
What blows by mind (and is, at times, infuriating) is when there are 0-3 year old foundation geldings in the RC.
like really? :/
