***PICTURE HEAVY***
Some of you may know Scout as my main character, but did you know he's my real life horse too? The thing is, he's a rescue, so his breed is unknown. But what better place to ask what breed someone thinks my horse is than a site that focuses on...breeding...horses? So, all you horsey experts, what breed does Scout look like to you? I've gotten Quarab, Morab, plain QH, plain Morgan, and Connemara Pony as guesses on his breed(s). Thoughts? Additions to the mix? He was born at the center I adopted him from, but the staff was unaware of his dam's breed, and his sire is unknown. The staff did, however, say his mom came in with a large group of all QH-looking horses, but I don't know how much QH I truly see in him. I agree greatly with Arab, and you'll see why in the videos, and *possibly* Connemara pony, because he looks just like these CPs at the barn, and I'm starting to think he's a pony, as he'll be turning 3 in May (kinda far away, but still, he's 2 already), and is still very short and hasn't grown much since I've gotten him. He does have some major defining characteristics about him that may help determine a breed, they are: slightly dished head, defined yet sloped hindquarters, and a HUGE belly (not worms, he's healthy, don't suggest anything about his health), along with a very prancy trot, especially on a lead. NOTE: It is against Equiverse rules to give advice, therefor do not make any comments on his health, vet suggestions, or genetic testing suggestions. Please also refrain from making comments about his cringe worthy mohawk that he used to have. Here are pictures/videos: Video One Video Two Video Three

I'm mostly thinking Quarab. He definitely looks like an Arab cross, and given what quarter horses are rediculously common around here and the mom came in with them that's probably it. Second guess would be morab.

I'd say he's got some QH in him. It's hard to know with rescues. He's a cute little horse though

Definitely would agree most likely QuarterxArab. His height may still come, a lot of rescues are late bloomers. Also, cant access the videos but if the indicator of him being Arab is running like your typical Arab with head high and tail up, my Quarter mare does that.

I'm not an expert so idk if it'll help any but I can send you some photos for comparison if you want, for what you think he is. Indy is a morab, I'll send you her baby picture on fb (I'm on my phone). I have some pictures of Connemara bbs too, I used to ride at a barn that bred them. I'll see if I can find them later and show you, if you want.

He share's a lot of characteristics with the quarter horse/ welsh cross ponies we have on my parent's farm. While they inherited the basic quarter horse look, they retained the smaller size of the welsh. While I don't think this is quite the breed he is, it seems that he is probably a pony cross. I'm going to go as far as to guess that he is probably around half quarter horse, mixed with maybe Arab and an unknown breed of pony.

I agree that he looks like a Quarter/Arab mix. He looks a lot like my gelding that was a Quarter/Arab cross.

A lot of people have stated that the test for what breeds a horse has isn't 100% reliable. But could give you a good indication.

He looks a lot like our QHxWelsh ponies did when they were babies... More specifically he looks like Rhumba, who is often confused with a Quarter Pony.
