Some Feedback?

#68399 Posted on 2016-09-19 18:30:18

So I'm pretty new here and I'm trying to get a feel for the art community.
I'd kind of just like to get some opinions on somethings and go from there.

So, what I'm wondering, are manipulations something that people are interested in buying? I don't see too many for sale here (I think I've only seen one or two to be honest) and it's my main form of art.
I got a little bit of interest in my character designs, but it's not something I tend to sit down and do often.
I can't draw for the life of me, so doing tags or linearts isn't something I would see myself doing.

I should also mention that I haven't figured out coding either so my manips would be strictly that unless I were to collab with someone.

So really, what I'm asking in a more straight forward way, is what are people interested in purchasing art wise that isn't hand drawn?
Is there a market for manipulations?
What would you say the going price would be for my art?

Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately from what I've seen is pre-made manips generally don't really sell very well.
Most people prefer custom manips of their characters for layouts, though there are some who will buy a manip that's not custom The market for them is really hit and miss, from what I've seen manip makers have mostly pulled off the sales board and just have manip commissions with prices on their profile pages.
Another thing you could do is put up a sales "shop" thread where people can see your work and put in orders. That may be a bit more successful than just selling one that you've made on a whim.

Unfortunately I can't really answer the pricing, I'm hoping someone else will come along and speak up on that.

Another thing that you may want to look into is making manip tags and sigs, I don't really see them around so it's something to try. Small wearable art usually sells well. Especially if you can throw in some animations on there

Hmm I didn't think about manip tags!
That's a great idea!

I'll have to look into them and see just how difficult it would be to do.

I don't mind doing customs ^^
Was just trying to see if manipulations at all were wanted here.
Premades are kinda hard to market anyways xD
