Anyone have any birds as pets?

We used to raise/breed Cockatiels and Parakeets. We also have owned Doves, Finches, a Male Blue Indian Ring Neck, and a male Peacock named Elvis. Yes, we've owned a Peacock, pretty cool right?
We plan on getting some doves or parakeets some day in the future. But, for now no birds for us.
Anyways, here's a few of the birds we've owned. No pictures right now, dA is being glitchy.
Patches a Male Cockatiel
Fancy a Female Cockatiel
Dusty a Male Cockatiel
Tweedy Pie a Male Cocktiel
Sky a Male Parakeet
Rocky a Male Parakeet
Lovey Dovey a Female White Dove
Blue Bird a Male Indian Ring neck.
we had about 15 other parakeets. But, I can't remember all of their names.
I don't have a picture of Elvis on the computer sorry.

BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIRDS

I am the BIRDMEISTER i love birds so much

My mom had a rehabilitation license for awhile so we've raised a ton of wild birds. A Ring-necked pheasant, sparrows, robins, a cardinal, a blue jay, a carolina wren, a grackle, a crow, a goldfinch, a mourning dove, and one time a pigeon who crashed into a window and was paralyzed (we called her Eileen because she couldn't walk and sat crooked...)

As for pets, we've had two cockatiels, two finches, over a dozen ducks, guinea fowl, wild turkeys, a partridge, and quails, and currently have some more quails, a cockatoo, and chickens!!

My girlfriend has a conure, three cockatiels, and two lovebirds...we want to have a bird/small animal rescue someday.

Wow, so cool! I would love to raise birds. A couple times I've nursed the odd Blackbird, Sparrow, Thrush etc. back to health, but the exotic ones really top the hat for me. There is a place in my area which house peacocks, parakeets, parrots and some incredibly bizarre chickens lol. It's paradise. :D

I used to own lots of chickens and ducks in the past c: I miss them dearly! Especially my ducks.
This is the last duck we had. She passed away a couple years ago from old age. Her name was Simba (lol my sister and I were kids when we named her... hence the disney name XD). She's either part or full muscovy, I can't really remember XD

Awesome!
@Zell: Peacocks are fun, though certainly a handful. We gave him to a 'Peacock Farm' as our neighbor kept threatening us because he was noisy. We didn't even notice that he was noisy, she obviously had super hearing or something.

@Myst: I hope to get a Lorikeet one day. They're so beautiful!

Sadly none currently though we had one eons ago named Jasmine and my great grandmother had one called Penny (I can't recall the Breeds at the moment). My grandparents will babysit an African Grey named Sheba every so often. Currently there is a wild bird who has made their nest outside our living room window and now there are three babies (I have a picture of them up on dA, but on my phone so laxy), but I'm not sure on the breed of this particular bird.

@Sib: they are extremely noisy and I wouldnt recommend it. He copies everything and knows to annoy people but he is very playful. They have very sharp beaks and dont know their own strength so will pierce skin very quickly. I find him very hard to read when he gets moody because his moods switch like a light switch very quick and unpredictable.

They arent for the faint hearted as they need special food and a special diet. Mine has nectar mix, a wide variety of fruits and some vegetables. And flowers when they are out but only those from my garden so I know there are no sprays on it that could kill him. Hope this helps. Only get one if you can completely commit to them as they need heaps of attention.
