Below is some general information copied and pasted from the original sign ups.

Pride Info:

The pride is run by a king and queen. The dominant figure is whichever is born of royal blood, while his or her mate is a consort. The monarch has absolute power, which means he or she is supreme leader, while every other animal is his or her subject.

The throne is inherited. Only those of royal blood may lead, unless there is an overthrow. Royal marriages are typically betrothals, but on occasion the future king or queen may be permitted to choose their own mate.


Ranks:

King: The presiding male in the pride. He is mate to the queen and typically serves as a guard-figure to protect the pride.

Queen: The ruling female in the pride. She is tasked with sending out hunting patrols, as well as being an authority figure and a symbol of stability to the pride. She is mates with the King.

Princes/Princess: Children of the king and queen. The firstborn is destined to be the next leader.

Huntresses: Any other adult lioness in the pride. They hunt regularly.

Bachelors: Adult male lions who have been permitted to remain in the pride. They must swear absolute loyalty to the king and queen and are not allowed to continue their bloodline without given permission from the monarch.

Adolescents: Young lions or lionesses who are growing more independent. Lionesses will likely join hunting patrols *only* to watch, but they are not permitted to join for their own safety. Lions will be kicked out of the pride once they reach two years of age.

Cubs: Lions or lionesses in the pride who are still under the careful guidance of their mothers.

I was thinking for one plot line in this one of us could play the child of the king and queen, and the other could play a cub betrothed to the prince/princess and are soon to be married. They dislike each other but are forced to be together by their parents. Perhaps the king and queen die soon and they have to learn to rule together or they get separated from the pride and have to find their way back with teamwork or something cheesy like that.

Of course, I'd love to hear your own ideas!

I like that idea.
One of my ideas was that these two royal young adults betrothed, from different prides, grow up together, and are deeply in "love", and have no problem being next in line to be rulers. But a couple of rogues come to the pride (the one that the two are supposed to rule together soon), and are accepted into the pride, but one of the two royals falls in immense true love with one of the rogues, and the royal no longer wants to rule with the prince/princess, and instead wants to rule with the rogue?

Ooh, I think I like both ideas equally. We could maybe combine them:

I'm going to use some fake names to explain this better.
Abc - daughter of current king and queen, betrothed to Def
Def - of noble blood, betrothed to Abc
Ghi - best friend of Def

So Def and Ghi are madly in love and both assume they're going to have a happy life together. The King and Queen announce without warning that Def and Abc are going to be betrothed and will one day rule the pride together. Def hates Abc because he loves Ghi, while Abc hates Def because... well, she just does, okay? The betrothed pair are forced to spend time together. Maybe Def and Ghi meet up in secret and someone discovers them and there are consequences or whatever (we can throw in random other bits of drama) but eventually, Abc and Def get separated from the group. Maybe they're kidnapped or something and while journeying back to the pride they fall in love for real.

That works. maybe throw in Jkl as Abc's brother who ends up chosing Ghi as his Queen since he is heir to his pride's thrown but wasnt betrothed (just so main/secondary characters genders are even)?

Ooh yeah, that's good. So one of us will play Abc and Ghi, and the other will play Def and Jkl. That means one of us will be playing two males, and the other two females. Perhaps we could throw in just a random third character for each of us of the opposite gender, just as side characters. Perhaps we could come up with some sort of plot for them so they aren't just sitting off to the side doing who knows what.

Also, you can have dibbs on if which ones you'd like to play. I'm impartial to whatever.

As for side character plot, maybe they are all struggling to provide food for the pride(s) in their own land, hence the betrothal between two prides, to share land so the prey is shared, since one pride is lacking porey, and the other has plentiful prey? And if Def/Abc don't return, then Def's pride has to get a new her, since Def is the only cub of the current king and queen?

Ooh, yeah! Ghi and Jkl could begin to fall in love when Abc and Def are missing.

So three characters each? I'm a wee bit tired right now, but tomorrow I'll get my sign ups up. Def and Jkl will be males, and I'll probably just throw in some random third female character for the heck of it. Perhaps she could just be a close friend of Abc?

Name: Hamu
Age: 2 years, 3 months

History: Born to King Tawi and Queen Anani, Hamu's birth was cause for great celebration among the pride. His parents were older than most to have just had a cub, but they were expecting three times prior with each pregnancy ending in a stillborn cub.

Hamu was raised exactly as royalty should be; lower ranking lions did everything for him while he lounged around, playing with other cubs without a care in the world. His parents' spoiling no doubt attributed to this laziness. He believed he was entitled to anything he wanted.

As he grew older, Hamu matured and became more charismatic, though most of it was an act. He still lives the life of royalty, despite his parents' chastisement. Eventually, Hamu managed to charm one of the lionesses his age, [Ghi]. It wasn't long before he fell in love with her, though they were forced to keep it a secret. His parents had been dropping hints about a potential betrothal but have not told him to whom. He's very against the idea, wanting [Ghi] to be his future queen, but cannot tell his parents that in fear of having [Ghi] punished.
Appearance: Hamu is a larger lion, almost identical to his father. He has wide set shoulders and thick legs, as well as long paws and an overall bulky build. His muscles are well-defined, most notably in his hind legs and shoulders. Hamu's fur is a light tawny color, very pale, and his paws, belly, and eyes are all darker of the same color. His mane, long and thick, is a burnt copper, and his eyes are brown, rimmed with yellow.

History: Aina has had a relatively dull life. Her father was some rogue, her mother a typical lioness in the pride. She was never really anyone special. She's had a good life, though seeks adventure.
Appearance: Aina has dark brown fur, similar in color to the mud found by the watering holes. She has a sleek build and a delicate frame, matched with long legs and a rounded face. She has very pale fur around her eyes, contrasting with her dark fur, and her neck, belly, and legs also sport this lighter color. Her tail tip is a burnt orange color, and her eyes are bright yellow.

Name: Kilio
Age: 3 years, 4 months
Gender: Male

History: While Kilio was the firstborn of the King and Queen, by the time [Abc] was born he was clearly not the favorite and was pushed aside by his parents. They would scold him for small things that [Abc] got away with, causing him to feel very bitter toward his sister. He did not play with her when she was little and often ignored her, jealous that she got all of the affection when it was he who was going to be king. When his parents informed him that they had a prince from another pride in mind to betroth her to so she could be the next ruler, he was beyond furious and stormed away.
Appearance: Kilio is a dark brown-gray lion, slender and lanky, though with a somewhat muscular build. He is average-sized and has an abnormally long tail, ending with a brown mane that is arguably black in color. He has a well-defined jaw and a broad chest. His belly and eyes are a pale golden color, and his eyes are blue.

Name: Malkia (means "queen" in Swahlili)
Age: 2 years 1 month
Gender: Female

Five Words to Describe: Independent || Quick-Tempered || Individualistic || Ambitious || Closed-Minded
History: Malkia was oblivious to the hate thrown her way from her brother when she was young. She loved him and much rather play with him than learn how to be a princess, or be spoiled by her parents and pride. But every time she tried to play with him, or attempted to show off, or anything really, she was ignored.
But she didn't think much of it until she was older, always thinking he had to be training to be the next King of their pride, and she knew he would be an amazing king. But as she grew older and he spent less and less time training and more and more time sleeping or flirting with lionesses, Malkia knew he just hated her.
She stopped playing with the other cubs, often times ignored her parents and forced the pride to leave her alone, no matter how much she hated being rude.
Appearance: Malkia looks like a mirror image of her father, King Kifo, if he were a smaller female, unlike her brother who is identical to their mother, Queen Maisha. Malkia is petite, definitely feminine in build lioness who has a golden-cream colored coat, with a more creamy, milky white under coat. Her tail tuft is a mostly a pale pale pale cream, very close to white, but patched throughout it is darker tawny and black patches. Her eyes are like that of her mother's and brother's, though, a crisp blue.

Name: Roho (means "ghost" in Swahili)
Age: 2 years 6 months
Gender: Female
Rank: Adolescent
Five Words to Describe: Outgoing || Social || Open-minded || Flirty || Pride-orientated
History: Roho didn't really grow up a normal cub. Being that Huma was such a prize to the pride, and she and Huma were best friends growing up, Roho was tried like royalty almost as much as any other royal cub of a normal pride would've been. She often distracted Hamu from his training and learing sessions, keeping him up late at night, then up early again in the mornings.
But when they matured, Hamu wasn't the playful, but needy cub anymore. He caught her attention, and she fell for him hard. But then rumors broke out within the pride of Hamu being betrothed, and Roho being exiled if she continued to distract him from his kingly duties. So she insisted on breaking it off, before she ended up an exiled young lioness carrying cubs of a king. But he had persisted, and so they carried on their "relationship" in secret.
Appearance: Like her name suggests, Roho is like that of a "spirit" or "ghost", pale white in color, her nose and paw pads a stark pink. She has a somewhat muscled build, but built more like your every day lioness of her age. She has bright amber-gold eyes, and slightly longer coat than usually, so she is fluffy soft like a cub instead of the more coarse coat of a lion her age.

Age: 5 Years 9 months
Gender: Male
Rank: Bachelor (of Hamu's pride)

History: No one really knows the past behind Wazi, he doesn't really care to share it either. He earned his place in King Tawi and Queen Anani's pride by claiming to be a great protector and hunter, even though he is male, and they allowed him to stay once he went blind because he could no longer care for himself.
Appearance: Wazi is a very large lion of tawny sand color and a mane of varying shades of brown and gold. He once possessed great muscle and strength, but let himself go after being blinded defending Prince Hamu (or so he says), and now is a poor excuse for a lion lump of fur. He is very well fed, tricking cubs into feeding him because he is a "poor old soul", and so aside from his scar ridden pelt and cloudy blue eyes, and sagging belly, he shows to have once been a great lion.
