Lychee, Mango, Avocado Ohmy

So, aside from art and voraciously reading. I really have no hoobies...so Im going to attempt to grow some of my favorite fruits, and thankfully, I live in a climate ideal for them.

Do you have any experience growing any of these titular fruits? If so, what kind of tips do you have when it comes to replanting them outside when the time comes along?

Oh oh oh! For avocado trees, try your darndest to plant them on the east or north side of your house or to the east of a taller tree. Build a shade structure if you must, to protect the tree for the first couple of years until it is established. Then once the tree is ready to start flowering and producing fruit, remove shade structure and let is bask in ALL zee sun! You might have to dilute some white paint and slap it on the trunk of the tree for protection as well, depending on your climate. Avocado trees don't really have any bark!

You won't really need to fertilize them for the first year or so. After that I've had good luck with the stuff used for citrus trees (Had some because I had a lemon tree once upon a time).

farmanswers.org might have some information/tips.

It's a project sponsored by the USDA and geared toward beginning farmers.

Madoka! What are you trying to grow? I currently have 8 raised boxes that I plant in, otherwise I'd have to dig out a foot or so of clay under the couple of inches of top soil. I've got an established asparagus bed, a beet bed, jalapenos, banana peppers, bell peppers, 3 different kinds of tomatoes, snap peas, strawberries, beets, squash, and eggplant. Oh! And about a dozen variety of herbs and edible flowers dispersed among the boxes.

No luck on the mango or avocado yet, BUT!!

All of my Lychee seeds are starting to germinate! :'D

I guess Im going to need to becareful on planting them outside, because, welp, I live in the subburbs, and our yard isn't capable of holding a whole grove, but, I could line them up against the perimeter of the back yard. :O So excited!!

Edit: 4 more have Lychee have started to germinate! Which makes 17 viable seeds so far!
