Just found out that if you go statistics and click on the breed your intrested in the game shows all the allowable genetics for it.

@sikora - that note refers to REAL horses, not those in game.

I have a question! So I have a white Chincoteague with WT and another with W+. I know W+ has a possibility of not passing it, so does that mean that the one with WT will always produce a white foal?

^ No, it means there's is a 50% chance the foal will inherit W (and therefore be White), and 50% of the time it'll inherit T (and therefore be Tobiano). The exact pattern in the latter case will depend on what it inherits from the other parent.

Varnish roan is the name of the appaloosa pattern on the horse, it's just called varnish in the post. Varnish roan is completely unrelated to the roan gene.

Wait, are brown Morgans not a thing? I love seal brown... I'd be sad to find out I'm chasing an unattainable color.

out of complete boredom, I've been building a family tree for Spirit from "Spirit Stallion of the Cimarron" and his ancestors from the books. I couldn't find a way to still genetically give him the dorsal stripe, and now, thanks to this very informative and descriptive guide, I now can, through his father's line, give him the less intense dun gene. This guide is really good too!

I love genetics overall and find it easy to understand, but one thing I can't grasp is the variations in colours.
