I'm new to Equiverse---but not a newbie to horse sims in general---and I was curious as to how the stats for conformation and stats are calculated. Like, is there a formula or something? I'd like to focus on breeding to build up conformation and then work on stats. Also, are a foal's stats calculated at the moment of breeding or before the foal is born? I've looked around and I can't seem to find answers to these questions.

Foal stats are calculated at time of breeding. There's no confirmed formula for conformation but it's generally either between the parents with the potential to be a little lower or a little higher.

Ah, I see. That's what I figured because the numbers I was getting weren't adding up. Thanks for replying. :) You've been very helpful. Also, thanks for telling me about the stats before conformation thing. I may do that instead and focus on conformation as a secondary thing at a later date.

I focus on stats, then conformation, simply because stats sell. A good way to start is to buy your own foundation horses, in a number that will eventually break down to a single horse. So 8 horses (4 stallions / 4 mares), 16, 32, and so on. For my fun projects I like to do 16, because they're easy enough to take care of. I raise their stats by treating/training/and either showing or putting them into the riding school each day. Sometime before they hit 18 I try to pair them up by conformation - putting the low confos with the high confos of another - and breed them twice, once at 19 and once at 20. I don't have to worry too much about stats because if I take care of them each day with their treats/training/etc they'll all be within 100s of each other. The way the breeding is set up the next generation -should- have slightly higher conformations then the parents before them. c:

Thanks for the advice, Nittrous. :) Getting a lot of good advice here. How do I get more divisions? I haven't figured that out yet and I'd like to separate my mares, stallions, and foals. I'd like to get more foundies, but under Member Information it says I have 5/5 so I'm assuming that means I can't buy anymore. How do I go about increasing that?

You need to have arenas to create shows. You can buy arenas from the Stable Expansion Store in Explore. Each Arena you own allows you to create 10 shows.

Wow, I feel like an airhead. -smacks forehead- I don't have any arenas so that explains it. It's so obvious, too. Thanks, Sabriel. :) That's all the questions I have so far. Thanks for the advice everyone! Much appreciated.

Yeah, I apologize for that. I didn't see the Help section until some time after I had posted it. I should have asked to have it moved. :3
