I have a few of the runts. I don't know if I'll stay with them, however.

Chincoteagues used to have grey, dun, frame overo, and possibly either roan or rabicano. They never had champagne. They also are not known to have white spotting mutations ("dominant white") or sabino pattern (the word 'sabino' is often tossed around erroneously to mean "any normal white face or leg marking").

It is possible that they have some form of sabino which can create a roaning pattern of sparsely mingled white hairs, sometimes seen in conjunction with tobiano and sadly confused with true roan for whatever reason. They just don't have the actual sabino patterning.

They can be black, chestnut, bay, brown, cream diluted, non-dun primitive marked*, flaxen, silver, pangare, sooty, tobiano, and splash.

*While they do not have the dominant dun allele D, they very likely have the recessive alleles nd1 and nd2 on the gene. 'nd' stands for not dun; nd1 does not usually dilute the coat and various primitive markings may be present, nd2 is simply no dilution and no primitive markings.

If/until the in-game horses' genetics are changed, if people want to stay true to real life they can always skip on horses with grey, champagne, dun, rabicano, roan, sabino, white, and overo.

(As a side note, I'm not entirely convinced that overo is no longer in the breed. I've seen plenty on Chincos and some look like they could very well be frame overo... just really don't know if anybody cares to have those horses tested)
