madoka, i'm glad my ramblings have a purpose beyond being useful to me! xD

reporting back as they all turn 5.
the stats for the 12 range from 211 to 263, and they've gained between 29 and 72 stats in the past week, with an individual average of 48 stats gained.

interestingly, my previously highest statted horse gained the least stats this week, but maintains his position as highest stats by a margin of only 6, whereas a week ago he was leading by nearly 30 stats.

I switched 3 horses to endurance and 3 to racing on the day they turned four. i also switched three more to show jumping on the 7th in the hopes that they'd get more stats by winning shows, but they remain my lowest statted by about 20 stats :/

starting today, i'm going to be feeding them only discipline-specific treats (rather than peppermints)

i've also decided that my personal (somewhat expensive) method of raising horses from foals is going to be to set their discipline as something that is not what i truly intend to show them in, feed them peppermints until they turn three, and then convert their discipline to whatever it is i intend to show them in.

they turned six today!

stats range from 251 to 320.
that's a range of 69 stats, which is an increase from the week they turned 5 (range of 52), as well as the weeks they turned 4 (range of 53), turned three (range of 18), turned 2 (range of 16), and turned 1 (range of 7)

this week they gained between 21 and 63 stats this week, with an average gain of 44 stats.

my former highest stat horse from last week is now 15 stats behind the current lead and is in 5th place overall.

it's probably a bit too early to be averaging stat gain and making guesses as to final stats at retirement, but this is based on what i have now.
Horses appear to gain an average of 46 stats in a week when they are shown, treated, and trained regularly.
Given where my horses are now at age 6 (aging in 7 days) and assuming they continue to gain stats at their current speed, they should gain an an average of an additional 690 stats between now and retirement, leaving them at a little less than 1000 stats. that's a LOT of stats for a store horse!

we'll see how things track for next week :)

So I was just thinking that I wonder what the average stats are for foundation horses now!? I loved that chart on EV1 that had the average stats for foundation horses per age. I would love to see that recreated here although I know it's much more of a gamble with stats from showing now...

Atomic, maybe I could make a Google docs spreadsheet...where people could put in their horses age and stats and such and it averages it out and graphs it. I'd have to do some figuring out though

i can pretty easily make mine into a graph since i'm tracking in excel, but obviously with only twelve horses it won't be totally generalizable, and its only till age 6!

but i'll get on that right now :)

Am I doing bad with my stores? Only at around 300, and 9 years old. Would love to join them into the spreadsheet, I got quite a few store shetlands throughout my herd.

Stats Spreadsheet

I've put some notes that you should read before entering your horses. Add them in, and I will work on figuring out a graph...if someone is an excel expert, feel free to chime in. I've used it a lot in biochemistry and physics, and I think that's all I'll need to know.

I might redo it, but for now I think this is the best way to get a variety of horses without having followed them throughout their lives.

My boyfriend is a financial analyst so he's an excel expert. Let me know if you have any questions I can ask him!

Okay, that sounds awesome. I don't think I'd need anything more than what I have now unless I wanted it to update as people entered their horses, which I actually think i could maybe figure out....

But for now, we will have people enter their horses and we will get a nice average across EV, hopefully.

Should these be horses just since training has been added or not? I have a lot of foundations that I bought as soon as the switch happened but they went so long without training that can't be very accurate anymore...

In my opinion, I wouldn't worry about it at this point. There haven't been that many stat boosts since training started. A few more months down the road, and we might be seeing a bigger difference, but right now it's not going to be more than 30 points or so. Not even enough to make a horse skip a level.

I added a few of mine and am fairly disappointed how far off they are from others there age! I treat and show and train EVERY day, so I am not sure what else I could be doing differently. I wonder if it comes down to speciality and how many horses are in their divisions. I will be interested to see more I guess. What a bummer!
