Showing... I'm stumped??

Ok, i was under the impression that this game was self-explanatory.  The lower the NSS and the Higher the stats the more classes you win.  I purchased 4 horses not for show but hopefully for breeding.  They are I5 lvl I understand you cant go any higher.  But all my horses were at the bottom of the show in every class.  when I checked the horses that won they had relatively same NSS but much lower discipline stats, by half!  what happened.  is there an unknown show quality that I need to breed for?

Both are older over 14 yrs of age, have lvl 5 tack, good confo stats in the 90's, healthy 100% on health and happiness. 

What gives, why did I lose so spectacularly, I'm peeved.  I thought this game was simple I must be missing something!?

I5 shows do not take into account any stats after 5665, so having high NSS is still a disadvantage in that tier. additionally, training level and conformation are weighted in shows, plus an rng factor.

I knew something had changed!! Thank you for the help.  I have been away for a few yrs so I missed seeing all of this.  Its also not under the help tab.   Wish it would be added.
