procreate help (again)

when im doing tag/sig recolors, i import the ref into the base so i can color pick directly off of it because i've noticed some inconsistency with how colors look on my laptop vs ipad. after switching to procreate i've noticed no matter what i do, all imported images are incredibly blurry to the point the colors are actually a bit smeared together and it's difficult to match subtle changes in color now. even with larger canvases they're still blurry, unless i use a huge canvas i cannot get anything to import without a huge drop in quality.

on autodesk sketchbook i could always import images at full size even if it was much much larger than the usual 150x150. so while the whole thing wouldn't fit of course (if i didn't resize the image to fit in the canvas then the excess would be cut off), i could just import a piece of a ref at full quality if i needed to grab something tiny like an eye color.

anyone know what i can do? or should i just start making my bases huge and size down after recolors (really don't want to as i feel like this makes it hard to control how visible the details are). i did try looking this up and couldn't find any answers.

So, when I did tag recolors on Procreate, I would have to make my canvas like 500x500 and do it that way, then just use an image resizer online.. Probably not the best way, but it worked for me. Otherwise, I'm no help. I have a love-hate relationship with procreate.

i managed to find a workaround where i grab all the colors on a larger canvas and make a really big color palette with them, save that image to my files, then go back to my base and put the palette in the little reference popout window. it's a little tedious and if i miss a color i have go out and open the image in a big canvas again just to color pick it accurately. but it's still faster than what i had to do on sketchbook i guess? the reference thing is also pretty finicky at times.

but yeah thank you for responding! i'm also having a love-hate relationship with procreate lol, though im happy to be able to do things like flipping canvases and use clipping masks for once :')
