Is it wrong to...? Finished Product

This is Nishe'.
He was my first character I made myself about 8 years ago. I love him, but I barely use him anymore. I can't depart with him though. When I made him, he represented a few things that interested me. Like music (at that time I was learning guitar. I have a guitar still but it gets played like once a year. :/ and the colours are my favourite colours but thats it really). Alas, I have grown out of some and he seems plain to me now. Of course I made him with barely no idea of how to design or ps or anything. So a revamp is on the horizon, but would it be wrong of me to really revamp him? Like I mean, add or change some markings around. Maybe try and add some add-ons or something. Like a necklace, or something that represents myself now?
Would that look stupid, especially because I have like 50 tags of him as he is now. Would that make them void?

I need some ideas. I don't want to see him waste but he just isn't interesting me at the moment. And he needs some love! ♥

Because we are humans.

Every day we grow, we change, we learn, we make mistakes and we fall down, we learn to stand up once more.

It is in our DNA to grow, adapt, change, morph.... We are not who we were yesterday, just as we won't be who we are today tomorrow.... It is not wrong to take notice of those growths and changes and impact our characters/personas/fursonas/equisonas/etc. It is based off YOU after all, and you are not who you were when you created him first.
Lend him your wings to change into the person you are today. But know he will also change and shift with you as you grow more. Like a snake sheds it skin, we shed as well, just not our skin. Change is inevitable.

Upon the revamp of a couple of my own characters (that I deigned myself years ago) they went through a lot of changes, and they have a tonne of tags to prove how different they are now. x)

I personally would keep him as-is. But, if you want a newer version, just make an entirely new character. Like similar in style, but just not Nishe'. Like this one could be Nishe's older sibling?
But that jus my opinion. ;)

I recently paid to have my oldest and most beloved character revamped. I think it is fine and love, love, love how Eliza D. explained it.

I had a character I bought updated since it was based on a character from a show and I wanted it to represent more of what she had become so go for it :D

And you guys are all right. :)

Now I just have to build him up a bit more. Build his personality. Play with his markings, add or remove stuff.

Does anyone have any ideas and where to put things or how I should play around with him? I know not many of you know me at all, or the things I like and I don't have a lot of hobbies and things that define me so I know that's not an easy task haha
But just some ideas to start me of would be cool. Like a colour scheme or how I can recorperate his old markings into new ones. This will be my first character revamp so yeah :D

Hmmm...I've never revamped unnaturals before, but for crazy body colors I like to color them like you would a normal color. i.e. , maybe a darker shade of his current blue as a gradient over the upper half of his body, or use a soft brush to apply it to his hips and shoulders and back, and then a lighter shade along his whole underside - like a blue pangere!

i really like the green color on his legs, so maybe you could move it to his hooves, or even shade the mane and tail with it partially?

A for the markings, you could maybe turn them into something kind of...flowey, intricate, and centered around one area like a sleeve of tats would be, like on a back leg, extending to a hip and belly?

ok thus far... I had this WIP done about 3 weeks ago.
I've come back to it today and I think I've done too much!

I'm not liking the white markings I put in. I like his head marking but now I'm thinking he was nicer when it was more plain? And the swirl at the back, where I've continued it.. I like that, but now I'm unsure if it should just be the same aqua colour that it was originally.

All the writings are ideas and things I haven't done yet.
Like, I was gonna put pawprints on one side... because the music symbol doesn't symbolise me enough now and I love animals and rescue dogs and such.. But should I put it elsewhere..?

And the stomach colour shading marking thing.. is it too much? Ahh I don't know. I like this design when I played with it and now I'm unsure what I think!



I also need someone to draw me a necklace ahah I discovered I suck at it!

i think your wip looks awesome! keep going with what markings you like and feel belong c:

my main oc has gone through the revamper three times since 2009 and i love her every stage ♥ i still wear her old tags so don't worry if you change the design a lot or a little because they don't become 'void' :D

ok, the more I played with it the more I realised I did like the white markings haha xD
Once I completed the other side it became easier to see how he would look.
This is what I came up with.. it's rough, but it will do for now. At least I can now start to use him again and feel happy with his outcome and that he now reflects me how I am now today :)

So what do you guys think? :)
