End of an Era

I woke up at 2am this morning and found out about the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. 

To me personally the royals play an important role (family background from England and I have heaps of relatives there) also I live in Australia and she is the Head of State. I wanted to do an official post, just congratulating her on 70 years on the throne and the sadness her death will cause. She was longest reining British monarch in history, surpassing Queen Victoria. My thoughts and condolences go out to her family and loved ones.

I was in my horticulture class when my classmate stood up out of nowhere and said she had passed only 2 hours after her passing. I was shocked, but sending prayers to the royal family and the UK

There aren't really words to sum up the intelligence, dignity, grace and humor...not to mention dedication to a life of service...that Queen Elizabeth II personified. Regardless of politics, controversy, scandal, loss, past history, she stood as a symbol of strength and caring...doing what often seemed like an impossible job. I don't know what the future will bring for the monarchy, but I for one am glad I was here to witness her huge place in history. 

I’m also saddened of the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.

My thoughts and prayers for her family and for the people of England, who adored her!
