"This isn't a good idea, Navajo," Her ears pinned against her skull, tail between her long legs "We should head back," her eyes caught sight of a man just as he looked their way, small eyes squinting at them, she could see the moment he acknowledged them, turning to signal to the other, her heart was beating out of control, stumbling backwards in a haste to leave, mind screaming dangerdangerdanger the longer she was there

Navajo
Even though the colt had a bad feeling about this, he was also curious. Navajo took a couple steps forward as he stopped himself and looked back at Taemah. "Yeah...your right..come on let's go," he said turning around trotting back. "What was that thing?" he asked looking over at the filly still a bit curious. His mother had failed to warn him about all of the dangers...including men. If only she did, then Navajo's future may have been a lot different. "I've never seen anything that had two legs before," he said prancing while he trotted as he often did. After awhile the colt stopped in his tracks, "I don't remember walking through here," he said looking around as nothing was familiar to him, "I think we're lost..." he said as he once again got a uneasy feeling in his stomach. "This was a bad idea," he said to himself realizing what he had gotten them into, "My parent's are going to kill me," he said frightened knowing he'll get the 'taking over the herd one day' talk. Or will things take another turn for the worst, and he won't return?
Hidalgo
Hidalgo searched the woods for his son as he came across hoof prints. The stallion came to a stop and lowered his head getting a smell from the hoof print, "Navajo...and that filly," he said looking up and galloping into the woods further. He would have followed the tracks, but they were sparse, so he had to find them himself. Meanwhile, Ondina constantly looked around for her colt waiting for Hidalgo to bring him back or if he came back on his own. Though as time passed, the more worrisome she grew about something bad happening. Though, she noticed one of the mares in the herd had appeared to be frightened as well.

Taemahs mouth hung open, she could not believe this. lost in the middle of the woods. she really wanted her mother, "My mom told me about them, 'men'' she called them. dangerous creatures with no consciousness. she told me stories of them coming through and cutting down trees, blocking the river without a care in the world. She told me to avoid them at all costs, they would take me in a heartbeat," She was frozen with fear, paralyzed in the sight of man.
so much so she didn't realize when someone snuck up behind them, until it was too late and thick itchy rope was around her neck. she shook and she whined, but nothing worked. one of the men sat on her, making it hard to breathe and even harder to get up.
Maybe this was how she died, under the hands of a man, she really should have listened to her mother.
Taimete
Taimete was a patient mother, she did what she could to make sure her daughter was safe and healthy, always checking in. Taemah wasn't a social butterfly, so the mare always knew where she was.
that's why when her filly didn't come back to her side in the late evening panic set in, she didn't want to freak out before she knew anything but the feeling in her gut told her this was not good, and that her filly was in danger.

Navajo
Navajo gave a snort, "We shouldn't be too far from the herd," he said wishing his mother had told him about the men. The colt took a couple steps around the area trying to find something that would tell him where they were when he spotted the stream, "I can see the stream from here!" he said gaining hope but that quickly faded when he looked over and saw a rope fly onto her. "Taemah!" he said standing there frightened. The colt turned around and kicked the man off of her, "Come on! We have to go!" he said rearing as he started to gallop away as she caught up, "Whatever you do don't stop running!" he said looking behind him to see the man getting up.
Navajo wasn't quick enough as a rope tied onto his neck and tightened as it jerked him back several feet as he fell onto the ground tumbling. The colt laid there as he had the wind knocked out of him and his eyes were closed. His shoulder bled due to a rock he had hit while he rolled on the ground.
Ondina
Ondina was about to approach the mare as she heard a foal whinny from the woods. All of her attention went in that direction, "Navajo!?" she said galloping into the woods trying to pinpoint where she heard the foal. Though by the time she got close enough to see what it was, she saw her son laying on the ground almost lifeless. The mare reared and pawed the ground when she noticed the rope around his neck. Terror took over her, "It's my fault....I never warned him...." she said regretfully. Ondina looked around to see if there was any sign of Hidalgo while she stayed hidden, "Where are you when I need you..." she said loosing hope on everything. She turned back around and got as close to her son as she could without being seen as she saw the man slowly walk over to the young colt he had caught.
