What to use to make art?

#252453 Posted on 2022-02-09 15:15:39

Hey so it’s been a long time since i’ve really done art, i’ve done a couple of simple designs but my current app just doesn’t give me enough range of use.

I’m looking for recommendations on apps (ipad) or downloads (laptop) that are good to do art on, as i would love to start sharing my creations again.

TIA

Thanks Saditome, not sure if i’ll be doing it like “full time” so i don’t know if i want to commit to a paid programme atm.

Oh that’s what i used to use! i’ll have to reinstall it, i just have no idea how to use it anymore XD

Gimp, though I mostly just do text art with it, I just ordered a tablet.

I use Krita on my computer. Free to use, and it works really well for me, I had gimp at one point as well, but like Krita better personally.

I use Gimp. I used to do my art with a mouse and did decent (for my art level) and now have a laptop that folds over into a tablet with a pen/stylus and still use Gimp. It's free and is quite versatile (I don't even fully understand all features yet).
