This suggestion comes from a non-horse-related Xbox game I played, and I thought it might be fun to do something similar here.

Throughout the game, you would occasionally get an alert that the prices on such and such had increased, or that such another was on sale. The stock in stores would be affected, and there would be some sort it reason given for the price/stock change.

I'm not suggesting a huge, uber-realistic economic engine - that would be a nightmare to code and maintain. I'm thinking simple events, just for something unexpected. Examples:

"A new fungus has wiped out the Red Apple crop. The general store will be in short supply this week."

This might help to unflood the market of items readily available from the store or through leisure riding.

"Estate sale: for the next 3 days, there is a chance of collecting fully-upgraded tack from the junk yard."

Something silly like that. Let me know what you think

Hmm, I am a bit on the fence about the short supplies one, but the other pricewise things would be quite fun. I have about 20 horses that need turnips, so that would be 140 uses a week, so I wouldn't quite like it if that wasn't available to me.

I like this idea, it would add in another gameplay factor to watch for and plan around, though it wouldn't exactly be something huge as far as gameplay is concerned. If certain treats got wiped out then it could revert back to the old store system for that item where there's 200 or so and restocks every hour, though maybe extend it to every 2-3 hours. This way people can still buy them in a pinch if they need to, or go to other players who have stockpiled. It would serve as a way to make money for some players as well, some people were unhappy that they don't get peppermints while riding to sell off to players and this would be similar.

Though, I think it would also encourage everyone to stockpile everything and then bring a flood of sale ads xD

Perhaps there can be weeks where special and rare items can be found randomly, these kind of weeks would be few and far between however.

I think this is a great idea and maybe if like every three months or so you would have to give your horses" De-Wormer" For a small amount of money that you purchase to give to them?????? I have to do this with my horses so i think maybe this would make it as realistic as possible. Or i dont know if you would count that as something a vet would do when they get checked up???
