How Borked Are These Horses?

#222172 Posted on 2020-05-02 04:50:58

So, I didn't play much or pay a lot of attention after the recode. Mostly just grabbed some high confo DWBs and locked it for a long break. When I came back I set about getting my foundies upped and getting a first foal crop in to see how it would go. What I SHOULD have done is hang out on the forum.

So what I want to know is: How crap are these foals and should I start over. I feel good about their points, I can work with the confo, but I didn't notice the matter of low NSS. My foundie (parent stock of these) were all SJ from day 1 and treated appropriately. Do I need to scrap this, or just get some super low NSS foundies and introduce lower NSS via pairing?

Not at all! Look at their base stats under the conformation. You have some nice DWB; and I don't even raise that breed! You'll just have to put them in the wrong discipline and convert them to SJ. Make sure you have 10k per horse for that!

I thought the points that can be converted were only those added by training/treats. Is that not so? A lot of them have over 55 NSS. What is the desired lower limit? I see talk of less than 50 NSS being desireable.

I haven't gone through all of them, but the ones I have looked at look great. High confo, and better than average NSS. As was said, you'll need to put them in a random discipline, then pay the 10k per horse to convert into show jumping. All non base stats convert (so all the random "bonuses" gained from parents having stats in the wrong area). No need to start over at all. If you decide to, though, I'll buy the lot of them! XD

EDIT: I did go through all of them, and most are superb. There are a couple who have more standard NSS, but the higher confo still increases their value in breeding in that way (at least to me).Β

As a reference, the mares in THIS division I bought from you and paid to double convert (10K + 2 EVC) because of how good they were. The stallions I got at the EC, but kept despite conformation because of the NSS--and many of your foals have NSS AND confo better than them.

It looks like you fed a lot of the green apples so they would be the only ones you need to double convert to get them back to their base stats but other than that they're pretty good for foundations and are actually below the average already. I'd also be interested in a couple or their offspring if you decide to sell!

Thanks everyone! I *think* I understand the way conversion works. I was misunderstanding what NSS was I think.Β

To Maple, there will likely be a few extra horses that will be up for stud/brood in the next gen, so I'll mssg you when they are born and you can have a look.
