Quarantine Silver Linings

#221099 Posted on 2020-04-17 13:55:41

So everywhere and everyone having to stay home, we hear all the negative things happening so what is one thing, something that's been good about this quarantine? Let's spread some positivity!

Mine are:

  • I've gotten to organize and clean my room like I've been planning for months

  • Some of the grind and stress of school has lessened

  • I've gotten to spend more time with family

  • I've gotten to spend more time improving my hobbies and art forms

  • I've caught up on shows and other projects

This is perfect! I think we have all been a little bit down from being locked up but it does have its good things about it that's for sure!

Here are mine:

◈ I've been able to work more with my horse Cooper on training him and doing some groundwork with him
◈ I've been able to start working with 2 another breeds on EV and I love it
◈ I have gotten to organize the barn and build some shelves for the barn
◈ I've been able to spend time with family and friends

I have;-

  • Caught up on box sets (especially those that are foreign & I have to read the subtitles)

  • Starting to read the books I didn't have time for

  • Rejoined EV after an unplanned 2 year hiatus

  • Cleaned out the junk from our sun room so we can sit in it again (old bath panels & dismantled wardrobes were taking over)

  • Started to bake (or learn to) - I burnt my ginger sponge cake on Sat because the recipe stated 1hr in the oven but I our fan assisted one apparently cooks quicker so 45 mins would have done. Oops. Its a learning curve! My partner does the cooking not me. Thankfully. Not that he warned me in advance about it cooking quicker. Unhelpful lovable idiot!

I haven't been doing much cause we arent allowed to go outside till our parents get home cause we live beside woods and have a church behind us and have had problems with people in the woods before.

So, when my parents are home, i ride the dirt bike a lot.
I can now jump successfully and my landings are SO much better! Like, i wasn't very good at landing but now i look like a pro XD

I have been online a lot, so i have been practicing my art and have gotten better at that!

Umm, i got out my Schleich horse barn and my room is an even bigger mess than normal XD

I have found some pictures of my dad's mare, and have been able to get some art of her(A ref, i am now looking for more art of her!)

I have spent way to much time watching Netflix and Disney+, sooooo i have caught up on tv XD

I think that's about it XD Not much exciting here :)

This is such a nice thread. I've been trying to focus of the positive side of things from the start and although encountering a few drawbacks, I've found quite a few good things.

Mine are

  • finally getting enough sleep

  • rejoining EV

  • found interesting online friends

  • discovered great music

  • being able to work out (more)

  • saw fantastic musicals online

  • starting a video game I've been wanting to try

  • looked through old family photos (mostly from the early 90s)

  • started an online psychology course

Admittedly I haven't done much because my lack of motivation still persists despite the endless time, but early on in the quarantine I did watch a couple movies I'd been wanting to watch for a while but never worked up the motivation and attention needed to, and I've been drawing some and impulsively doing other little craft things. I discovered a new music artist I like quite a bit also. Oh and I've been watching some cartoons (Amphibia and The Owl House, specifically) when I've got free time and I see them on because even though I'm older than their target demographic I don't really care they're cute lol.
