Brussels bombings...

Two years ago today:


Our capital city has just been hit by terrorist bombings.

The airport and several subway stations have been attacked. So far I heard that there are several confirmed deaths.

Since we live close to Brussels, most of my family including myself work there and ride the subway daily to get to work.
My dad just made it out of the subway system in time and was on the run for a while. I just got news that he was picked up and taken to a safe place.
My bf is at work.
We have no idea how they'll get home.

I'm currently on sick leave, but the school I teach at is going on lock down. I feel horrible about not being present at the moment. I want to be with my students. Luckily they are too young to realize what is going on.

At the moment I'm still waiting to hear if several cousins, aunts and uncles are safe.

I can't believe this is happening.
Please keep all of the victims in your thoughts.

It's all over the news here in the US. It's absolutely devastating. I know they said they were on alert for an attack due to the France attacker being recently captured, but there is still no way to fully prevent something like this. It truly breaks my heart.

As of right now, the news here says at least 28 have been killed, but unfortunately, I'm sure that number will rise.

One of the Paris terrorists, Salah Abdeslam, was arrested a couple of days ago.
These attacks are probably retaliation by ISIS / Daesh.
We knew it was going to happen some day, but we're all in shock.

Several other bombs have been found but they didn't do any damage.

As for as I know all my family members and coworkers are safe.
I'm going to visit my parents as soon as they get home.

I can't believe I almost lost my dad.

It's just horrible. It's all over the news here in the UK too. I hope you're all safe x

My dad just got home and my bf was just dropped off at my place.

Im so sorry. We hear about it so much here in the US but we're not the ones experiencing the terror.

Stay safe. I hope that things can settle down. It breaks my heart to hear these things happenings to innocent people.
