Thanks all. She is such a good little horse. She is already starting to connect with us some,  which is great. And she is so willing to trust us, which is awesome, too.

Still haven't gotten her a name yet but I will update here once we do.   :)

We figured out a name for our newest addition! We have decided to call her....

Sunny!

We chose Sunny after our beloved Sun Dog, who we had to... gosh, still hard to say a month later... end his suffering... anyways... Also! Because of her sweet and sunny disposition!   ♥    She really is a big sweetheart!

She is doing really well! I don't work with her daily basis but she is already picking up on a lot of things. She is really lazy, which is good and bad in its own way. I have been focusing a lot of developing a relationship with her, while integrating training. I have already introduced her to a flag, which she really could care less about. She leads and sends, disengages her hind end and can move her shoulders. Starting to learn pointing and going that direction. Working to get her to be responsive versus lazy but that will come more with time and more education.  :)   Sunny is starting to learn about picking up her feet as her first farrier appointment is at the end of the month. She is very smart and catching on to everything I throw at her so quickly! Here are a couple updated pics of Sunny (and me).

Oh, and she has new friends! We put her with our other 2 horses. Very uneventful mixing.  lol  Nyx is the boss and Ronan is Sunny's new buddy.   :)    Silly horses!

Does anyone else have experience with handling/training babies? What are some of the first things you teach or think should be taught?

Oh my gosh, do I have pictures?  lol   I will post a few more tomorrow. Sunny really is a very quiet, even tempered baby. I think I am going to start introducing her to obstacles to develop her confidence and trust in me and herself. I don't think it will be too "exciting." Just for kicks, I tossed a long rope around her girth and started pulling on it to see what her reaction would be. She gave to pressure immediately, no hump, no fuss. I moved the roped to her flank and still, quiet as a mouse. She doesn't mind ropes at all, which is great because I want to rope off her. Not that I couldn't work her through it if she did mind but it makes it really easy when a horse is this quiet.

@Lenka, that is so neat you have seen Warwick Schiller live, not once but multiple times! I keep checking to see of he is coming to my area; so far, no luck. I rode in a clinic of his years ago and learned so much. He is an amazing horseman and a great teacher.  :)
