Hay Cubes and Sugar Cubes?

Hello!

I'm new here and still trying to figure everything out. I understand the benefits of the specialized treats (eg. red apples, carrots), but I'm not understanding how hay cubes and sugar cubes work, or when to use them. More information on these would be great!

Hay/sugar cubes add stat increases to random stats versus specialty-specific treats which add stats to particular stats.

Some people feed their foals hay cubes, select incorrect discipline at 3 years old, then convert for $10k. (This practice can also be done longer, example, feed a horse hay cubes until it reaches training level 3, select wrong discipline, then convert.)

If you intend to breed/raise successful show horses, be VERY careful with haycubes. Always convert horses to their correct discipline before breeding.

Horses with stats all over the place WILL NOT show as well against horses with stats in the correct categories for a specific discipline.

We typically use them for cubing and converting which is explained here (the last 2 sections titled What "cubing" is and The Conversion Method).

They just give points by random. I find it better to use the specialized treats so points aren't given to the horses non specialty. I assume people use cubes for horses that are more like "pasture pets" but I don't know. I'm sure someone else knows better about it all
