Congratulations!

You have been accepted into the Dragon Rider Academy! School begins on September 1st. Please arrive at the Academy the night before to get settled in. Each student will have their own living quarters. Be ready for the first day, because it is the most important of all: the Dragon Selection Ceremony! We will see you soon!

You live in a faraway land called Aswal. Aswal is split into 5 kingdoms:

The Mountain Kingdom: a mountainous region in the northern part of Aswal with harsh weather. People reside in valleys and sometimes caves in the sides of the mountains. 

The Plains Kingdom: a vast plains area in the eastern part of Aswal with gentle, warm weather. Many farms and ranches are located on the plains, but there are many dangerous predators.

The Jungle Kingdom: a tropical, jungle terrain in the southern part of Aswal with hot, rainy weather. It consists of remote villages and unexplored forest.

The Sea Kingdom: a territory placed along the coast of the western part of Aswal with a variation of weather. The populations are concentrated in small towns inland, away from the dangerous, jagged cliffs near the ocean.

The First Kingdom: the metropolitan capital located in the center of Aswal. It is the most populated Kingdom, and some of the weathliest Aswalians live here.

You have come from one of these 5 kingdoms and have been accepted into the prestigious Dragon Rider Academy, located on a large island off the coast of the Sea Kingdom. The Academy is a boarding school-style school that trains Aswal’s elite force of Dragon Riders, heroic defenders of Aswal. The Academy is famously mysterious, and only selects 16 year-olds with great potential.

Full name: Alfred “Alfie” Isley
Gender: Male

Personality: Alfie is a goofy, “class clown” type of guy. He is very sarcastic and jokingly arrogant. He has ADHD, which makes him energetic and constantly on the go, but it also helps him excel at any physical or hand-on activities. Even though he seems like a laidback, careless type of guy, he is very clever but doesn’t apply himself.
Background: Alfie was born in a large but remote village located in the heart of the Jungle Kingdom. He had a pleasant childhood, although his house was chaotic with Alfie’s 5 younger siblings. He attended the small school in his village and learned the basic curriculum as well as life skills such as hunting, cooking, and useful survival skills.

Full name: Corrie Ruth Searle
Gender: female
Appearance: Corrie has a dark complexion and a head of bouncy black curls that fall to her shoulders, which she often ties in a low ponytail. Her eyes are a dark chocolaty brown in color, and are bright and expressive. She's thinly built and around average height, standing at 5'4". Various scars from fishing hooks and the like can be seen on her hands, though she's managed to avoid any serious injuries thus far despite her nature. She wears a golden heart locket with a tiny photograph of her deceased mother kept safely inside (the locket was actually her mother's before she passed), small pearl earrings (made with real pearls), and often has a feather or two from some sort of seabird tucked in her ponytail.
Personality: Adventurous, reckless, and fearless are three words commonly attributed to Corrie Searle. In her seaside fishing village, one of the only few located so close to the water, she's definitely the obligatory 'town troublemaker,' though she makes up for her reputation of taking part in daring cliffside stunts by being an astounding fishing prodigy. All fish should be very afraid when she shows up with a spear.
Background: Her family has owned a highly-respected fishing and crabbing business in the Sea Kingdom for generations, so it's no surprise that Corrie and her three siblings all have their fair share of fishing experience. The kids were all homeschooled by their mother up until her passing; after that, Corrie's older brother, Ramone, stepped up to help their father run the family business, and Corrie herself took to helping care for her two younger sisters, all while still disappearing for hours at a time on her little adventures.

Full name: Rosanne Duyer
Gender: Female
Appearance: Rosanne is short and kind of slender, but is strong from hiking and climbing in the mountains. She has black hair that falls not quite to her shoulders and looks like it's been hacked off violently, as it's uneven on the ends. She's pretty in a rough, disheveled way, with sharp brown eyes, and her hair often falling in her face a little. She typically wears simple wool clothes, since her family doesn't have a lot of money, and there's normally a little dirt on her face.
Personality: Kind of wary, like she's ready to defend herself if necessary from a verbal or physical attack. Rosanne always studies you while you talk, like she's trying to decide how to get rid of you, but doesn't really hate dealing with people as much as she sometimes looks. She is a little bit reclusive by nature, and is inclined to spend all her time walking around by herself. This is often just because she doesn't like coming up to people and starting a conversation herself. She comes off as kind of tough and cold at times, but she's really just used to having to take care of herself.
Background: Rosanne's family - her mother, father, and younger sister, along with herself - live in a cave in the Mountain Kingdom, and have never had much money, getting along by hunting and raising sheep. She and her sister are both used to watching themselves and spend most of their time climbing and exploring.

Full name: Clovis Florin Deniau
Gender: Male
Appearance: Clovis is tall, standing at maybe 6'2", though nobody's really sure. He is thin, but couldn't be called lanky, as his movements are rarely awkward or clumsy. His complexion is dark, reminiscent of dark chocolate and coffee beans. Clovis has black, curly hair, trimmed at the sides but kept long on the top, some hanging into his eyes on occasion. The previously mentioned eyes are a deep brown, close to black; if the sun hits them just right, amber-colored flecks can be seen. Clovis' fashion choices are meant to be practical and comfortable, typically consisting of a tight-fitting pant [to minimize the number of scratches from thorns and insect bites], supple leather shoes [for walking of course], and a soft t-shirt. Around his waist is a belt that holds his black dao sword, tucked in a sheathe.
Personality: Clovis is reserved, sometimes isolating himself from others and preferring to do things alone. He is organized with just about everything - clutter, mess and impulsivity are not things he enjoys. If asked for an opinion, he is straightforward and honest with his answer, which has resulted in the bruised feelings of others. Not many people ask him for opinions anymore. He comes off as aloof and unsentimental. With people he cares about, Clovis can be considerate and possibly even nice in his own way. Extremely protective over his loved ones, but doesn't bring attention to it. 
Background: Constant quarrels and fights were the way of life in the Deniau home, deep in the Jungle Kingdom, until Clovis was ten. His parents split, and his mother moved to a different village. Clovis and his sister, Olivie, went back and forth between parents every other week for two years. Their father was a kind man who loved his children, though he had little resources. Their mother was just about the opposite. Clovis always returned with a new bruise. Over the course of the two years, Olivie remained, oddly, untouched. It wasn't until Clovis came back, beaten mercilessly, that their father had the courage to put a stop to their trips to their mother's village.

Full name: Remington Sterling Hornwallis VIII
Gender: Male
Appearance: Remington is tall, with a seemingly permanent sneer on his face. He is about 5' 9" and very slender. Remington has short cropped dark brown hair, with small bangs in the front and one or two dark marks on his face. His eyes are ice blue and seem to demand authority. Remington is almost always seen in a dark suit and black tie, with shiny leather shoes too. He has a single silver ring on his middle finger, with a small hippogrif engraved on it.
Personality: As son of the second richest man, he was raised getting anything he wanted. As a result, Remington is pushy and sometimes rude. He was never really taught to do work, and even gets his teeth brushed by someone else! He is fiercly competitive, as he and his younger sister Seraphina needed to vie for their father's attention. Remington was never really socialized, so if things don't go his way, he gets nervous and disoriented. He is a perfectionist, and hates anything dirty.
Background: Remington was raised by his mother in the First Kingdom since his father was always too busy. He was famed for his fencing and violin skills, as well at having a knack for mathematics. He is used to being alone, not including his servant Jimmy, and knows multiple ways how to amuse himself. There are only two people in the world he truly cares about: His mother and Jimmy (though he tries to hide it with Jimmy).

Full name: James "Jimmy" (unknown lastname)
Gender: Male
Appearance: He is heavyset and muscular after years of working. He is very compact made, and not really tall. Jimmy has red curly hair and very pale skin, even with all his working. He has warm, friendly hazel ears and a bit too big ears as well as a whole bunch of freckles on his face. He wears boots all the time and clothes that are ragged and stained sometimes, but he tries to be neat.
Personality: He is very warm and caring and simply loves pleasing people. Jimmy will quite literally give you the shirt off his back if you asked for it. He is a very hard worker. Jimmy follows Remington around, doing whatever he tells him to do. Even with Remington's standoffish attitude, Jimmy believes he is one of his best friends. Jimmy is humble and sensitive, and tries to be as kind and friendly as possible at all times.
Background: Unknown. Was found on the doorstep of the head cook's house and Remington's mother decided he would be the perfect playmate for her son. They were both one at the time. 
Jimmy has never had an education, but as he almost never leaves Remington's side, his picked up a bit. He is really good at learning languages, but still has some difficulty reading in English.
Other: He came to help Remington, not to learn…though perhaps he 
has a skill? ;)

Full name: Izzy McPhereson
Gender: Female
Appearance: Izzy is short, at around 5' 3" and spends most of her life looking up at people. She has dark skin, and wild, frizzy brown hair with gold streaks in it. Her hair is usually tied back with a brightly colored headband. She has bright green eyes, covered by large blue rhinestone glasses. She has bright clothing, almost always looking like a whirlwind. Izzy usually wears a colorful T-shirt, skorts, and leggings underneath, and she has a large baggy backpack. 
Personality: She is brutally honest and blunt, making her sometimes disliked however. She can be seen as vain and frivolous, but she actually just likes annoying people. Izzy is always excited and happy and a bit of a klutz. She is extremely loyal and will be your friend forever if you win her trust. Izzy loves bright colors and anything crazy, and is extremely creative. She likes reading factbooks and blurting out random facts. Izzy always speaks he mind, and can be a bit of a gossip, but she tries to work on that.
Background: Izzy was born in a small town in the Plains Kingdom. She was quickly known as that "weird girl" and often bullied for it. As the fourth oldest of thirteen children (technically fifteen but two died) Izzy was very good at making herself noticed by her wild clothing. She never had real human friends, not including her siblings, so Izzy has quite the imagination and has millions of friends that she dreams up. Izzy absolutely loves animals and helped train her father's sheepdogs.

Gender: Male
Appearance: With dark hair, warm skin and pretty hazel eyes, Ireneo is clearly sweet and easily approachable. His calloused and scarred hands are definitely those of a worker.
Personality: Often unliked for his upbeat, carefree, and reckless persona, Ireneo is a deadly loyal friend and just wants everyone to be okay.

Appearance:Indie has longer-than-chin-length pale blonde hair, a square set jaw, and shocking green eyes. She's quite tall, and has decently broad shoulders, but she slouches a bit, making her look much smaller.
Personality: Indie is pragmatic, cold, sarcastic, serious and loner-typed but overall caring individual. She tends to push people away or shut them out, and struggles to move on from past mistakes even if they aren't in her control/blames herself for things that out of her control. She tends to keep problems to herself instead of talking things out. Earn her trust and you'll find she has a really soft and gentle side, but her walls have been up a while.

Full name: Ginerva Murphy
Gender: Female
Appearance: As a tall redhead with a deep scar through her left eyebrow, and cold grey/blue eyes, Ginny is pretty intimidating appearance wise. She has very light freckles, and double lobe piercings on both sides. She's awfully pretty, but the Death StareTM is a good deterrent.
Personality: Much like Indie, Ginny can be sarcastic and very cold to those she dislikes… although her siblings would say otherwise. Once you get to know her she's humorous and kind. Comes off as quiet but is definitely well spoken. Despite what you'd think, Ginerva is most definitely a pacifist - she's more likely to abide by “if you can't beat them, join them” then to charge in guns blazing. She's not one to give up, but if it meant less casualties, she'd take it in an instant.

Gender: Female
Appearance: Elodie, Not mine
Personality: Elodie is a true ambivert. She'll gladly go along with whatever social gathering is going on, but the minute she feels uncomfortable, she'll leave. She enjoys a good debate and willingly plays devil's advocate. She bounces between being an anonymous and quiet rebel to proudly owning her "misdemeanors." Elodie often assumes an innocent, "who, me?" attitude around adults, but you wouldn't be surprised to see her snickering about whatever she's done once she's around the corner. She enjoys the great outdoors and has lived in both the Sea and Jungle kingdoms off and on. 
Background: The daughter of an artist and a potter currently residing in the Sea Kingdom, Elodie is very artistic and enjoys breaking societal norms and surprising people. The youngest of four, with two brothers and one sister, Elodie has learned to fight for attention when she wants it.
