NYC High School

Ezhno
He glanced at the time and stood. His father had stopped calling him, luckily. After paying for his food, Ezhno walked out of the little restaurant and debated what route he wanted to take. He glanced at a nearby alley. It was shorter, but he'd run into some questionable people in there. He shrugged. May as well do it for the fun of it. His life was boring enough, he wouldn't mind spicing it up with some danger. Ezhno entered the alley only to be disappointed. It was empty. It didn't take him long to go the whole way through it. Now he was able to choose between the next alley or to take the sidewalk. Again, for the same reasons as before, Ezhno decided on the alley. He was about to turn the corner into it when he heard what sounded like angry female voices. Oh, this could be interesting. He entered, then stopped. This is definitely interesting. "I wouldn't have expected to see you in an alley," he commented, walking up from behind Kahlen. He leaned on the alley wall and studied the ground (no eye contact, Ezhno). 

Kahlen 
"I was hoping not to see you at all," Kahlen replied to Ezhno. She turned her attention back to Cora. "No. See, I don't do friends. Acquaintances, maybe. Briefly encountered strangers, most likely. But friends? Ha, that's funny."

Ezhno
He could barely suppress the smirk that wanted to show. "Ouch. Not only does my very presence offend you, but you're going to just brush me off? I'm hurt." Ezhno glanced up just the slightest, looking at Cora without making eye contact. He spoke to Kahlen again after directing his gaze back to the street under his feet. "Is this a friend of yours?" 

Kahlen 
Kahlen sighed. "Did you not hear what I just said? Absolutely not."

Ezhno
"You have a boyfriend, so I assumed there were exceptions. Who is she, then?" 

Cora
"So whats Auberon?" She askex, not aknowledging Ezhno.

Ezhno
He sighed, stepped away from the wall, and moved between the two girls. "Okay, this stupid fight is over. Auberon and Kahlen are obviously a thing, you'd have to be blind to not see that. Or a salty ex. Or both." Ezhno shrugged. "Anyway, I'm Ezhno. What's your name?"

Cora
"That depends on your definition of blind," Cora retorted, crossing her arms and looking at the ground. "I'm Cora."

Ezhno
Ezhno pulled his phone out for a second to check the time. He had a little extra, since he had take the alleyways. He pocketed his phone again. "Cool."

Cora
"What's cool?" Cora turned her head to study the boy quietly.

Ezhno
"I didn't mean it literally. It's a distracted way of saying 'you spoke and I heard you.'" 

Cora
"Really? Wow, I would have never guessed," Cora said dramatically, though her voice had no form of anger or frustration in it.

Ezhno 
"Then asking was rather pointless." So I should have... maybe an hour, two if I'm lucky, before my dad threatens to call the police and report me as missing.

Cora
"Might as well spend your breath when you have nothing important to keep is spared for," she mumbled.

Ezhno
"I have no idea what you said but I don't want to know. I'm not a therapist."
