Princess Sparkles...and the mini donkey

I was talking with my sister last night and there is a woman boarding 6 horses out at the farm..she is behind on board and was trying so hard to find her blind "pony" a home but could not find anyone so was going to have to put her down. I asked to see her tonight and well, now Splash is known as Princess Sparkles and is all mine! She is so sweet. She is rocky mountain horse, was bred badly and is around 13 hands and blind. She is silver dapple as so beautiful. The woman I got her from was riding her around tonight and she also gave me an australian saddle to go with her! Also my husband somehow convinced me that he needed to get a mini donkey that another boarder wanted to find a home for...so now we have him as well!

Aww, she’s beautiful! And the donkey is adorable!! So glad she didn’t get put down, it woulda been a shame. :)

I know and she will be perfect for me and the kids. She will ride out alone or with a group..I can put the kids on her back and lead them around. She stands perfectly for grooming, vet, farrier, everything! I groomed her without holding her lead at all and having it on the ground tonight. It was so great!

Awwwww she's so pretty! The little donkey is adorable as well! I'm glad she wasn't going to be put down. I had a similar thing happen with an Arabian mare I had a while ago. She was a broodmare, but she got a uterus infection and was unable to have anymore foals. The people brought her to the vet to put her down, but the vet knew us and asked us if we could take her as she was a perfectly healthy horse. We ended up taking her and she was a great mare!
