Horse RP Game Interest Check (Free Art!)

I just spent the last three hours setting up a game that I thought people here might enjoy. This is the introduction I came up with. The basic game is ready to go, although it's really long (almost 3200 words). I can probably cut it shorter and make some of it extra reference material. First, though, I want to know if anyone would even want to play.

I saw this game on another site and thought that it might be a hit here! The premise is simple: you start with a character and explore/breed to find new horses. You must protect your herd from predators and search for food to ensure that your herd thrives. Roleplaying your characters is a requirement, but your post may be as long or as short as you wish as long as you explain the actions you are taking. I will be rolling the results using random.org.

There will be two branches: fantasy and realistic. If you pick the fantasy branch, your horse may be a unicorn or pegasus and/or have magical powers. They may also come in all colors of the rainbow, but you may opt out of this. It will be quite rare to have powers; I will use random.org to roll for powers to ensure fairness. There will be opportunities to grant your horse wings/horns/powers and find horses who have them as you explore the game. There will also be items in the game that grant bonuses; all items/accessories will be available to both branches, and characters between the branches may interact. However, horses in the realistic branch are immune to all magical powers, both good and bad.

I will be doing a recolor of everyone’s starter horse! I will do my best to find a lineart that matches the breed you chose; however, please do not complain if I cannot find one that matches your character perfectly. You are free to make any changes to the design on future art pieces; this is just something I’d like to do to be nice/drum up interest.

Here's how to get started:

1. Post here with the breed of horse you want as your starter and their gender. Also include in your post if you wish to be in the fantasy branch or realistic branch. I will roll for your horse's colors, markings, and any possible add-ons. I will do my best to make this realistic, but please do not fuss if I make a mistake. I am not an expert geneticist!

2. Once your horse has been rolled, please edit your first post with your horse’s name, personality, and description. It is recommended to include a backstory, though it’s not a requirement and may be brief. A description of the habitat your horse lives in would be helpful as well. Include all information that has been rolled. I will put a list of all characters and their owners in a Google Doc and link to it in the first post. This list will also include each character’s/herd’s possessions.

3. You may post an action once a day as long as I have rolled your previous action. I will do my best to keep up with this game, but I have a not-quite full-time job so am pretty busy. This rule may change depending on number of players and how difficult it is to keep up with.

It's still a bit of a mess; I plan to do more organizing to make it more readable. I'll be back in a few hours to create the thread and get everything ready to go!  Thanks everyone for your interest. Sessea4hawke - I know it does seem pretty complicated. xD Honestly, it's more complicated for me. The focus for you will be on exploring and growing your herd of horses, or whatever else you want to do. It just takes a lot of space to explain the mechanics. If people would prefer, I can remove the exact percentages from the main page and add them to a different one.

Anyone posting their form here, please repost it on the main thread once I get it going! You may fill out any part you want ahead of time. I just want to make sure everyone is serious about joining, so I won't make your recolor until I get your form. I look forward to seeing everyone in the game!

You don't have to be online every day! Your characters will only age when you participate. That means that whether it's been a day or a month since you last played, everything will be the same as you left it.

Also, sorry for the delay. I was gone a while longer than I thought I would be. I promise that I'm still working to get this up and running as soon as I can!
