Considering a third breed.

#173467 Posted on 2018-06-06 21:36:24

I’m considering a third and final breed to add to my program, but which one would be a good fit?
I currently breed morgans for dressage, driving, and western. TWH for driving, endurance, and racing.
I’m looking for a show jumper to round out my program.

From what I know Trakhners (I think I spelled that wrong, lol) and Dutch Warmbloods seem to be pretty popular in jumping, and I think Thoroughbreds might be some popular in that but don’t take my word for that as I’m not quite sure, lol. Both Thoroughbreds and Trakhners also have a pretty good variety of colors, and TB’s and Dutchies have an ok range of patterns as well. :)

I’ll take a look at them. Thank you very much.
Color range and patterns are good.
I like to try and breed for conformation, stats, and color variety.

You can see how many horses of each breed are in each discipline on the Statistics page! Maybe it'll help your search. ^^

Looks like the trakehner is the best choice, based on the stats page.
I think i’ll go with them, but focus on breeding for the cream variations.
