@Deadpool
No one is saying the showing system isn't flawed. In fact, I wished we just went with the lowering of the non spec through breeding idea. Its messed up, I know. I get it.
My point is that instead of complaining about not being able to compete against 1 other horse, just enter a show so there is 3 entries. You will get your achievements, you will get your points, you will get your wins, and it is still a small show so you have a larger chance to win. The formula is messed up, but this update is only a small tweak, its not something to get so hyped up over. It's just not worth it.

I think at the end of the day, we all have to make choices on how we strategize our show sting. If you want more guaranteed wins, enter small shows. If you want a better chance at making money and/or earnings stats, enter larger shows.

@⇜ĐeadpooⱠ⇝,
Are you sure your horses with that issue are not bugged? Maybe it's good idea to put links to them in Bug Zapper so Abbey could see if everything is fine with them.

I looked through your horses and majority of them should have no problem with placing if are being showed properly (and in shows with 5-8 participants, the more horses in show the harder is for horse to place). Because of randomness and training level my horses also loose sometimes but it doesn't happen all the time and hits various horses, not the same constantly. And this happens more often to my younger horses with lower training level (like this boy or this girl). In fact, many of your horses have similar show results to mine.

I know what you feel because many of my ponies were doing terribly because of recent bugged shows but in this case I feel like there's everything okay with your appies. As for QHs, it's hard to say since you haven't showed them recently (and I must say that my horses above R1 tends to have more random results since there's bigger variety in stats at this levels).

It's not so much a "you must play this way" than a "here is the minimum effort you need  for a bonus", 3-5 entries aren't a hard thing depending on when you show. You can either do the minimum or more and have a chance of bonuses, or do less the minimum for no bonuses/loss. You shouldn't be able to get bonuses for no competition, hence the tweak.

As I understand it you aren’t currently showing or haven’t been for a while? Why not just try it for a couple weeks with a few different methods.

Done that. My horses flopped for long time so I have to sell them because they are no longer meeting my breeding qualifications. A huge money stinker for me. At least I got my money back by selling rare plush.
I don't intend to try again until I know for sure that the system is 100% bug free.

In the case of only being 1 of 3 national horses then I’d just school it?
"Also, just as a note, if you withdraw from showing purely because of this, that makes you a contributor to the "there's not enough people showing" problem"

Um... If I school my horses, I am contributor... but it is okay to school at national level?
Nobody should be forced to school their horses at any level. That's the whole point of "system is extremely flawed". What's point in raising high statted horses if you can't show them? This game is supposed about not forcing players to play a certain way.

Entering low entry shows isn’t always a bad thing if they’ve just been made, but if there’s only a couple hours left then schooling would be the best option. As a handshower you really have a lot more control over horse your horses show than someone that autosjows, since you can make decisions for each individual. ... If you’re concerned about losing money because of random locks then enter shows with more than 6 entries instead of 4.

I guess you didn't read my whole post..

"I handpicked shows because I often will try to ensure that my horses are entered in shows with 4+ entries so I can get stats bonuses. However, it doesn't work all the time. Often, I found 20 shows available with 0-2 entries so I had no choice but enter in those shows and hope that someone else will come along and enter their horses as well. "

** I will clarify this little. Those 0-2 entries shows often were just made. I tend to log in during times where all shows are being created. I have to gamble every time I show my horses.

If I choose to school them because there's no 6+ shows, then people will get mad at me for contributing to the "there's not enough people showing" problem.

I don’t see any change of method, just that one way hasn’t worked for you so you’re throwing in the towel by the sounds of it.

You really love to make assumptions... I've told you in the past to stop make assumptions.
I've tried many methods. I tried auto show with random, lowest entries, and based on price. I realized that it doesn't work so my 2 EVC were wasted in the end because I stopped using auto show after second week. I start to handpick shows and tried several methods. I did what other players did. I tried my methods. None of them worked.
I have to sell out 30+ horses because of all wasted experiments I did.

Personally  I will only enter shows with at least 4 entries given a chance, barring that I'll enter the ones with the most entries and farthest from running so there is a chance it will get at least 5 entries.

For the most part my horses do really well and place in usually 7-10 of their shows and I always (except when it was really buggy) turn a few thousand dollar profit (I don't spend a huge amount but I often double it)

I'm very strategic with when my horses show and that works for me

I don't see what is fair about paying out $100 to enter a show and only getting $40 dollars back for first place just because no one else entered the show that's a loss of $60 per horse per show.

I always create enough shows for my own horses because I don't like running my own horses against each other so I feel like I am being faulted because there aren't always multiple entries in my shows so I will lose a HUGE chunk of money daily if there is only one horse entered.

I am not looking for a bonus I feel I should at least get back what I put into a show not lose money.
