I don't think it could be money donated, because people who have donated a lot vs. people who have not are not listed on there.

If I remember right it has to do with player points and supposedly points earned by the horses you've registered to the club? I'm not sure it actually works that way though, last I recall it was a bit buggy. (Or after a quick search for Contributions I'm apparently the one that said that, so it's possible I'm mis-remembering from somewhere else!)
