"Uh...  I think we have some empty stalls in the West barn." I gestured for them to follow me. I went in the direction of the West barn, checking behind me to make sure they were following me. When I reached the West barn, I turned around and saw they had feed and tack with them. I pointed to the empty section of the tack room and said " you guys can put your feed and tack here." They gratefully put down their items. I gestured towards the empty stalls. "There are the empty stalls." " Make your self at home." Seeing all was well, I walked towards Fawn and Outlaw.

FAWN

I was surprised that Outlaw was able to put on his halter that fast. I looked up in the sky, it was going to get dark soon. "Alright, let's see if Plumberry is going to walk for us." I got a lead rope and smiled it onto his halter . I tried to get him to walk in a circle, but he walked only one lap around me. "Lets end this with a good note." I said as I opened the gate as Plumberry tried to run to his stall. I thought to myself " time to hit the hay! "

Outlaw
I watched Fawn, holding myself back from helpin her. The last thing i wanted to do was make her hate me cause I showed her up. I glanced at the sky, wondering if Fairy wanted me to do anything else or if I could work my own horses yet. Part of the agreement had been using the stables and track and such for my 5 horses. I usually did Western, but the track was a good place to get them in top form and speed.

After the horses had been rugged and each shown to their temporary stalls, I drop the last bag of feed into the tack room with a groan, following Andrew out as he climbs back into the truck. "I'll be back with the rest of the syndicate in tow." He laughed, and pulled the truck back onto the road as I shove my hands in my pockets with a sigh, passing the stables and grabbing my helmet, doing up the buckle with practised ease as I grab the reins of our more well-known stallion, Gambit Springs, and heaving myself up into the saddle. I laugh as he snorts excitedly, trotting flashily past the stalled mares, cremello coat spotless in the sun - and although it took constant cleaning to keep his coat that nice, even I had to admit that he looked gorgeous when clean - and ease him into a slow canter for a full lap of the track. Each horse is different, and Gambit needs a warmup lap before he can train like he's not walking on hot coals.

I glanced at the stables, itchin to ride one of my babes. “We done here fer the night, or anythin else?” I questioned Fawn with a thick northern accent. I’d tried for a while to hide it, but it didn’t work. Plus I was proud to be from Alberta, Canada.

COLT

I walked up behind Outlaw and Fawn, surprised to hear a really thick accent coming from Outlaw. I couldn't make out what she said, but I heard Fawn say we were done for the day. I looked up in the sky. It was almost pitch dark.

The next day around  I had to exercise Fairy Dust. She snorted and stomped on her stall, ready for exercise.

I pulled up to the stables the next day, and shut off my black GMC truck, sliding out. It was early morning, around 4:30-5, so the stables weren’t that active yet. I entered the barn and went over to where my horses where stalled. All 5 put their heads out of the stalls and let out loud nickers. “Yah I’m comin, I’m comin” I muttered, grabbing my groom box from the tack room and entering Phantom’s stall, a pitch black Frieab/Marwari cross that stood at 18hh.

After binning my coffee cup, I take off my jacket and hang it over the stall door, starting to tack up my favourite mare, July. She snorts impatiently and stomps a hoof as I tighten her girth, and I laugh quietly, gathering up my grooming box.

I set about doing her hooves after brushing the rest of her, and straightened up only to shocked by a wave of cool water. I wiped it out of my eyes to see Phantom looking quite amused and her water bucket swinging, empty. “Really? Just really? This early?” I grumbled, using the long sleeve on my western style black shirt to wipe my face off, and drying my hands on my dark blue jeans. I shot Phantom a pretend furious glare before leaving the stall and bringing her western saddle, saddle blanket, and hackamore over. She started prancing in place in her stall, snorting excitedly.

FAWN

I was walking around in the barn, when I stepped right into a puddle. I looked at the horse who made the mess, I regonize recognised her as Outlaw's horse Phantom. I grumbled as I shook water out of my shoe. Outlaw came walking in, carrying a water bucket. I watched her put the bucket in Phantom 's stall. I told Outlaw " Fairy said you can work with Hughes today, he's in the North Barn stall 136. " "You can start whenever you're ready." I walked over to a horse a couple stalls over from Outlaw 's horses and pulled down the halter and straped it on her face. Her name is Flashy New Year.

I gave a nod of ok when Fawn told me bout the horse, setting the saddle blanket onto Phantom’s back and then carefully tossing on the saddle, swiftly buckling the cinch, back cinch, and breastcollar. “Good girl” I murmured, patting her on her shoulder as I took the hackamore. I slipped off her halter and put on the hackamore, clipped on reins, and then pulled the stall door all the way open and led her out and too the track, her prancing next to me.

I shut the stable door behind me as I lead July out, using one of the fences to help me get into the saddle, grinning as she jogs on the spot - July needs no warm up, she can see the track and is ready to go. As soon as we're on the track she's gone, galloping easy, barely even breathing hard. I know she can go faster than this, but I'll let her run her excitement out first.

I led Phantom onto the track, keeping her on the outside so as not to get in the way of the other rider. I slid my foot into the stirrup and smoothly mounted her. Another bonus of western tack. I used my seat to hold her back as she pranced and snorted, eager to go, as I found my other stirrup. “Alright, les go” I murmured, upon which she immediately surged forward into a gallop. I held her back for the first while as I crouched over her neck, not letting her go full out yet. Even not full out, I looked up to see her almost abreast with the other horse already.

COLT

After warming up Fairy Dust, we went over to the main track. When we got there, two horses were racing around the track. Fairy Dust got excited, stomping her foot and snorting. I let her go, and we flew down the track. All of that training paid off with her holding herself from going to fast. Soon we passed the second horse, gaining on the first. I clucked, my signal for "give it your all." She was going plenty fast, but now she was flying down the track, winning by a furlong. Little did I know Fairy was timing us. He glanced at his timer and nodded. "Soon, very soon." then walked back inside.

As Phantom easily breezed past the other horse, another came galloping past full speed. Phantom snorted and pulled slightly at the reins, wanting to go after the horse, but I gently but firmly held her back. “A different time. Today we’re seeing how long you can hold your full gallop, not racing a different horse.” I murmured softly, patting her on her well-muscled neck before returning one hand to its position on my leg and keeping the other on the reins. I waited til she was nice and calm then gave her a slight bump with my legs and leaned forward slightly, holding the reins loosely. She lunged forward into her full gallop, going faster and faster til her legs where nothing more then a blur, and we where flying down the track faster then the horse she’d so badly wanted to race had.
