I'm at the hospital.

I am sitting on the Palliative floor at the hospital with my dad. He was sent back to UW from the facility he was in on Saturday. My sisters, my mom, and I all decided it was time to stop treating and switch to comfort care. The doctors say they can't give us a time line. It could be in an hour, a day, a week. Hospice is coming to assess him tomorrow to see if they think he could survive an ambulance ride to their in patient facility that is only 25 minutes from our homes. Right now he is 50 minutes away and we are trying to be here in shifts so he is never alone. I will b here until 5am when my mom comes back. Then I go home and get my kids ready for school. After they get to school I am coming back up and my pastor is also coming to see my dad. Our retired Pastor was able to come Saturday which was comforting. 

Even though we knew this was coming, we know he will pass, it just is never enough time. Never pass up the opportunity to spend time with loved ones. That time won't always be an option.

Thanks that is very nice of you. I am afraid to try to sleep because they have no monitors hooked up to him. I am afraid he will pass while I am asleep :(
