She nodded. "It's okay. Maybe someday he'll prove he can be trusted." She sighed and looked around the group. "And just so you all know, I would appreciate it if you, uh, don't... touch me. Normally I wouldn't have a problem with it, but..." She trailed off.

Auberon
Auberon smiled at the mention of Kahlens name. "I guess... I don't know. She said I was brave."

Kahlen 
Or maybe he won't. Only time will tell. Kahlen nodded. "I get it."

Denver 
"She's right." He glanced at the boy. "So you're not intimidated by her at all?" This is a novel experience.

Auberon
"Um, well I don't know. I mean I like her..." he admitted looking down.

Denver
"Oh. I see. What I meant was you don't think she's too intense or something?" That's a first. I didn't think this would happen. Ever.

Auberon
"I just see it as she's protective over people she loves and herself. I'm not sure how someone would define that as a bax thing." He replied standing up.

Denver 
OHMYGOSHTHISISREALLYATHING! "Well, I'm glad I'm not alone in that sense." He looked up from his work. "Just be patient with her, and eventually she'll warm up."

Auberon
Auberon smiled slightly. "Oh trust me, I will be."

Denver 
Denver smiled to himself. A lot of guys had been captivated by his sister- mostly because of her looks and how unattainable she was. But here was this boy who didn't think she was scary or intense- and he was willing to wait until she came to terms with her feelings! This was going to be interesting to watch.

Auberon
"I'm guessing your very close with your sister?" He said fiddling with something in his hands.

Denver 
"Well, I'm one of the few people she actually doesn't hate, so there's that. I've kind of been the only one there for her when we were growing up. Of course, dad was absent, but my mom wasn't the best parent in the world. She and Kahlen... butted heads a bit, to put it mildly. She's also the kind of person whose trust you have to work for, so... not to mention her whirlwind of a personality. Deep down, though, she isn't as cold as she acts. She just needs someone to be there when she needs them, that's all."

Auberon
"Ya it sounds like you two are pretty close!" he said thinking of his own unknown and dead sister. "Why wasn't your mom the best of parents? You don't have to talk about it if you don't want too..."

Denver
"No, it's okay." He sighed. "After my dad left, she tried her best for a while. Slowly, she kind of fell apart. My mom never really found someone... to lean on, I guess. She and Kahlen are a lot alike- although my sister would never admit to it. They're both strong willed, determined, and have that commanding personality. Both straightforward and to the point. But they never really got along, maybe because they were so similar that it just never would have worked out. Eventually, my mom just... disappeared I guess she figured Kahlen and I were old enough and responsible enough to manage on our own for a while. She's somewhere in South America. Whether that's permanent I'm not sure."

Auberon
"Oh I see," he said quietly. "I never knew either one of my parents. I was raisied by my aunt and uncle, both of which wouldn't tell me about my parents. All they said was that my father was a drunk or something like that..." he trailed off before he started up again. "I apparently had a younger sister, but she died at birth. But they wouldn't tell me how or why, so I just finally gave up asking." He took Eudora's necklas out of his pocket again and played around with it. "I wish I could've known her; it got so lonesome at times. Not knowing anything about your family, not having any friends, and then all of a sudden when I seemed like I was getting by; another boulder crashed me. Finding out one of my parents was a Greek god or goddess was a little traumatizing..." he blinked, snapping out of his rememberance.
