Ivy Greene
Ivy tried to concentrate on something- anything- that would distract her from the reality that she was standing in the middle of a bunch of people who were talking so fast (as it seemed to her panicked mind) that she couldn't follow the conversation.
Storm seemed nice enough... She wasn't bothered by the fact that Ivy was so antisocial. 

Suddenly, her brain realized that there was a snake- a snake!- in the vicinity and it seemed to be someone's pet. She tried to control the anxiety somewhat successfully. Please let this be over, she wished fervently.

Landyn Cawdwell

Landyn sat in the car, hiding his face but allowing himself to scan over the many cars, some of them police cars, with his eyes. He gulped, knowing that he was now going to be forced out with the other kids out there. "Come on Landyn," he heard Jenny say as if on cue. He sighed, giving her a small glare, letting her know he didn't appreciate the tone she was using towards him. He ran a hand through his hair and sighed before pulling the handle and stepping out of the back seat of the car. His eyes scanned the area around him, seeing absolutely nothing interesting. He sighed, dreading that this was exactly what he imagined before he came here. He heard steps behind him and the thud of a bag dropped next to his foot. Jenny huffed, pointing to where the group was gathering. "Go on, get up there," she instructed. Landyn rolled his eyes before lifting the bag and carrying it towards where the rest of the group was. Landyn heard his name just as he approached and he immediately kept his head down, avoiding any sort of attention that was being drawn towards him. "Yep, here I am," Jenny called out from behind him, causing Landyn to visibly cringe. Jenny stepped in front of him, offering out a hand in Storm's direction, "I'm Jenny, you must be Storm. Oh and this here is Landyn." He felt hands land on his shoulders, giving them a squeeze as Landyn cringed once more before taking a second to peek up at everyone.

River

Ms. Looney opened the passenger door and forced River out. River side and picked up her bag and went over to the group of other kids. She stared at the ground and crossed her arms trying to seem like she didn't want to talk

Katie
Katie smirked, crossing her arms as Sunny wove lazily around her feet. "This doesn't seem so bad." "I'd be careful, Katie, you won't be the top dog here." James said, and Katie almost scoffed, turning to the cop. "And what do you know about me James?" James replied a little too quickly with, "Katie, I know pretty much everything that was on your file-" "Do you know how old I am, James?" Katie cut in quietly, looking up. James paused for just a second too long, and Katie knew then that he knew next to nothing about her. "Do you know how tall I am? When I was born? My last name?" Her expression dropped in a mixture of disbelief, betrayal, and horror. "Tell me you know what I'm in for." When he didn't reply, she shook her head in disgust, stepping away from him. "You're just like everybody else. You don't care." Katie then wished, although she'd never admit, that the owner of the ranch would hurry up and approach her, and James could leave.

Storm
"That's my dog, Valkrye. You can pet her if you want" she said to Olivia, seeing her glance at the dog. "i saw the last one come, so pretty soon i'll get u settled in and introduce you to the animals alright?" She smiled and moved off towards the social worker she remembered as Jenny. "howdy" she said, shaking the outreached hand. "hello Landyn. or do you prefer being called something else?" she asked. She noticed the other cop arrive, and moved towards him. "hey, you must be Katie. welcome to the ranch. and who's this handsome kitty?" she asked as she crouched down and held out a hand to the cat.

Billy
He noticed a girl watching Blanca and shot her a friendly grin as he hoisted the snake out of the tank. "for goodness sake, the things gonna crush you!" Murray growled. "man will I be glad to leave under the capable watch of Storm" Murray added. "Feelings mutual" Billy assured him as Blanca draped herself over the back of his neck and happily stayed there.

Katie
Katie grinned, thankful for the distraction. "Yeah, I'm Katie." She looked down, laughing at her over affectionate cat. "And that's Sunny. By the looks of things, he loves you." She felt James step forwards and place a hand on her shoulder, and she cringed away, silently satisfied when Sunny hissed at him. "We're so glad you could take Katie in, Ms Rider." He let her shoulder go when she took a step away. "This is her last resort before Juvie, and we're kinda sick of seeing her down at the station in handcuffs." Katie scoffed, crossing her arms and looking away. "It was three times, James." James raised an eyebrow quizically. "Three times this year?" "....Three times this month...." She muttered, not really paying attention as she watched in fascination as a boy draped a large snake over his neck.

Storm
She grinned as the cat leaned into her fingers "he's a sweetheart" she said, getting to her feet. she nodded at James "rule number one: call me Storm, not Ms, or Ms. Rider, or anything of that sort!" she said with a slight grin. "alright Katie, if you've got everything you can bring your stuff up to the porch and we'll send off all these cops and social workers and get you, and your pets, settled in before I introduce you to the horse and dog your gonna work with." she said with a smile.

Olivia
She blushed slightly when the boy walked to the snake and shot her a grin. He lifted the snake over his shoulders and she watched in fascination, trying not to stare. The snake was gorgeous, but it was also next to the boy's face. Her social worker was standing next to her and had seen the exchange, elbowing Olivia jokingly in the side. Olivia glanced up at the woman, knowing what was coming. "Go on, talk to him. Cute boy, cute snake. What have you go to lose?" Margaret grinned at her. Olivia just looked back at the snake, looking content. Margaret leaned down so as to talk quietly to the short teen. "I'm serious. You need to make some friends here. Go talk to someone." Olivia scanned her face with her hazel eyes to make sure she was serious. She was. She wants me to talk to complete strangers? She's really losing her marbles, huh? Nevertheless, Olivia begrudgingly walked toward the boy with the snake. She ran a hand through her caramel hair and kept her eyes on her feet. When she arrived, she glanced up and met blue eyes before shifting her gaze away. "Hi," she muttered. "My social worker wants me to talk to someone." She shrugged.

Ivy Greene
Ivy winced as the boy put the snake around his neck. How?! she thought. Thankfully, all the police and social workers were going to leave soon. They were only making her more nervous. Also on the plus side, no one was really paying attention to her anymore. Maybe she could go hide soon......

Storm
She beckoned everyone over to the porch. "alright, if you teens have all of your stuff, we'll send your social workers or cops away, and get you settled in!" She flashed an encouraging smile at a nervous girl, Ivy she remembered her name was. She rubbed Valkrye behind her ears and the huge dog leaned against her.

Billy
He smiled at the girl. "hello. i'm Billy Moon, but just call me Billy. And the snake is Blanca. you can pet her if you like, she's gentle." the snake pulled her head from behind his shirt, where she had been debating crawling down it, and leaned over his shoulder for the girl to pet her.

"Alright, Storm, well Katie here is going to be in good hands, right?" James said, reaching out and grabbing Katie's wrist as she tried to head over to the porch. In an instant, Katie's easy going attitude was gone and she was seething with fury, spinning on her heel and wrenching her wrisy out of James' grip, shoving her face up into his personal space. "Touch me again and I swear to god." She spat, and the threat was sure to be followed through, had she not then stepped away with a smile perfected over the years flashed at him. "See you later!" She called over her shoulder, heading to the porch wih the others with Sunny hot on her heels, and a backpack slung over one shoulder. She watched as Sunny scampered up to a girl with pretty red hair and eerfully shoulder bumped her leg, meowing up at her. She seemed a little tense and anxious, so Katie figured that was probably why Sunny was worrying over her.

River

River looked up and saw the snake."cool snake"she said. She sighed and pulled her head phones out and placed them in her bag

Storm
"Don't worry, James. You just worry bout getting back into civelization without getting lost." She said with a grin that hid her amusement at Katie's reaction. she shot Katie a wink. "alright, you social workers and cops had better hit the road, it's a 3 hour drive to any paved road, and if you don't know the area it ain't a good idea to be out here in the bahoonies when the sun sets."

Billy
He grinned as she told the cops and social folks to be off. he liked this lady! "don't mess up, else we'll see you again when we come to haul you off to jail" Murray warned before giving his shoulder a slight squeeze and starting towards the police truck. "Don't blow it, and have fun bud" McCabe said. They exchanged a fist bump before McCabe strode off to the truck. Billy grinned at the girl who told him "nice snake." "Thanks!" he said before picking up Inola's carrier, swinging his backpack over his shoulder, and grabbing Blanca's tank and made his way to the porch, with the snake still sprawled over his shoulder. He breathed deeply to calm himself as he watched the dust from Murray's truck drift into the forest as the truck disappeared around the bend. So this was it.

Olivia
She gingerly reached out her hand and rubbed the snake's smooth scales. It was pleasant, and she liked how it had reached out to her. She smiled. "Hi, Blanca," Olivia said softly. Suddenly, they were herded toward the porch and Storm shooed away the social workers and cops. As Margaret pulled away, Olivia felt her stomach churn with excitement and a sense of dread. She stepped toward the porch, glancing at Billy's blond hair ahead of her and the snake around his shoulders. He seemed nice, despite being escorted here by a cop. She looked to Storm, excited about the idea of working with the animals.

Katie
Katie snickered, shaking her head. "Thanks for making them get lost. It's definitely appreciated." She looked up at the sky, taking comfort in knowing that it was the same night sky that was hanging over her when she was back in those alleyways, staring up at the dark sky, curled up next to all the other runaways sharing clothes, blankets, warmth. She tugged nervously at tbe sleeves of her worn leather jacket, glad that the cool night would bring an excuse for her to continue wearing the long sleeves; she didn't feel like revealing to these strangers that she still had burn scars all over her arms. Her legs were a different matter, she had been wearing long pants when the house was aflame, and therefore the burning was nearly invisible, and she could omfortably wear shorts. (Like now.)
