I have such a difficult time coming up with names. In my younger days I never had any trouble...now I am naming my horses things like Tennessee Titan because I have such a creativity block when it comes to naming horses.

I like to have themes for my horses. All my horses are named after towns, cities, counties, countries, states/providences, and continents. So, I spend a lot of time looking up fun town names from Italy or Japan or even county names from Georgia or something like that.

I normally name my horses things or Natural disasters, like if the horse has white spots I name him/her something with snow. I hope this also helps!

Now I am not one for naming horses based off of things but if I have a creative block I put my music on shuffle for titles and click the "Random Horse" button at the same time. If I am lucky, there are some words I can combine into a name.

Sometimes I too have difficulty in naming individuals so for weeks they go by their sire & dams name or the insulting TBC Name, but I have a theory its because the older people get the less imagination they have lol.

Sometimes, if it's just naming one or two horses, I wait until I hear something on tv or in a song to name them, but if I'm naming an entire group I use an adjective + noun generator. Foals generally get some form of their parents names mixed together.

I get names from books, lines in books (like Tell Me, Texas), songs, nature, my RL horses (like RP Prides Precious), a mood (like Graveyard of Memories and Storm of Sorrow, which I named after my grandpa passed away) and things that interest me, such as Butch Cassidy. they come from all over as u can tell, lol! XD

I have several ways of naming my horses. 1) first thing that pops in my head when I look at them. 2) combining dam and sire names to find a nice name (kind of like doing jumbled letters to find words) 3) name them in a different language because it just looks nice (google translate is great for this). I have some new 3 year old mares I named in french using google translate and the names look so pretty
