Dithering?

#12834 Posted on 2016-03-01 09:00:53

Hey there. I've been toying around with pixel lines. I'm not phenomenal, but I'm practicing and think I might be figuring it out.

My question is this. Does anyone have any dithering tips/tools? I looked at a few tutorials on DA but they're all a bit nondescript.

On that note any pixel art tips would be accepted.

I have made some pixel tutorials over de past few months, maybe they are helpful.
Idk why there is a brush set too but ok xd

I sometimes even place "random" pixels, which I think looks very nice. I don't have a good example tho x'3

I'll throw together a little dithering "tutorial" later for you if you like :D
Dithering is super easy, just time consuming if you do it all by hand (which is the only way Ive done it before)
I also found this dither brush for photoshop-

Alright I did an example of what dithering looks like (I actually used that brush I linked. It is suuuuuper useful. No more taking hours to dither anymore!)

The left hand side shows the 100% size, dithered being the top one and non-dithered on the bottom. And on the right it shows both zoomed in to show detail. Dithering is basically just a big checkerboard design. I hope this image helps ^^

You rock. I get the basics to dithering for the most part. Now to maybe try to incorporate it.
