On The Run

Killa
She glanced back at the boy who had come in late. Her mouth opened in an o to see that his face was different - he looked like the girl close to him! She closed her mouth and watched as he went through impressions he assumed were of the girl. I forgot some people can do that here. Though she could turn into an animal, it was unsettling to her to see for the first time a person able to change into other people. She turned back to the teacher and met their eye. They raised a brow at her but otherwise kept talking. She tried to pay attention.

Alice
Alice groaned and rolled her eyes. Really? How childish she thought. She turned away from him and tried to listen to the teacher. No one knew what she was -well, one person did- and she planned to keep it that way. She pulled her hair into a ponytail and looked at the red haired girl in class. She was looking out the window. Alice smiled and looked at her other classmates. What secrets do they have?

Ramses

He chuckled to himself, proud of himself for the reaction he got out of her. Just as he was about to change back to his own face, the teacher whipped around and glared at him. She has always been known to have a sixth sense about those things.
"Mr. Euphrates!"
Ram froze on the spot, his eyes wide like a deer in the headlights. His face shifted back to it's original form immediately and he slowly gave her a sheepish grin. 
"How many times have I-"
The teacher was quickly cut off at the sound of loud boom in the distance, and the shaking of a building. The lights flickered, and the room went dark with the exception of the windows giving natural light. The class let out startled gasps, and even some yelps could be heard from other classrooms.

Killa

She had been watching the drama unfold when the building tremored and the lights went out and back on. She glanced up at the lights. I wonder what caused that. Whatever it was, it must have been powerful. Killa looked back to the teacher, who hadn't yet moved. Foreboding turned Killa's stomach. She turned around in her seat and regarded the shapeshifter behind her. She doubted he caused it, the sound obviously from the distance. But the teacher wasn't doing anything yet, and Killa didn't know what to do either. A part of her wanted to investigate the sound, but she also wanted to go somewhere safe and curl up with a book. 

Mika 

Mika stopped and stared up at the lights. The building stopped shaking. Mika looked at her classmates. The teacher was as still as a statue. Her face fell. What was happening? She thought.

Lynn

Lynn was on guard. Anywhere else, she would have ignored the sound. But not here, and not now. With her eyebrows knit together, she hovered on the edge of her seat, her weight already on her feet in case she had to move fast and her senses going wild. She could feel herself losing her grip of her human form, which happened when she was tense.
“This doesn’t feel right”... she couldn’t shake the feeling of foreboding 

Ramses

"H-Hey Teach, this is a drill right?" Ram stood up from his seat slowly, slowly moving over to the windows to see if any of the kids were filing outside. There was nothing.
Just an open field on grounds used for training, and an endless forest sitting behind the electrical chain link fence guarding the school from unwanted outsiders.
"Where are-" He was once again but off at the sound of another explosion nearby, but frighteningly more closer, most likely just down the hall. The room shook violently, causing Ram to fall back into another random student curled up in their seat. The school echoed with frightened screams, finally causing the teacher to snap into action.

"Into the corner! Now!" She ordered, pointing to the farthest corner from the door as she hurried over to it to look out the hall.

Lynn

“F*ck that, I’m not cornering myself in... literally” she mumbled under her breath
Lynn let her leopard shape take over. At this point, she was so tense she didn’t really have to summon her animal form, but rather just stop holding it back. Everything seemed to get taller as she went down on all fours, fur starting to grow all over her body. Swiftly, she jumped up onto the top of the high cupboard where they kept supplies, ducking her head to avoid hitting the ceiling.
“At least from this height I have some sort of a vantage point over whatever it is that’s coming” she thought, already starting to brace herself

Alice

She had flinched at the loud sound and looked around. What just happened?? She pursed her lips and followed the people to the corner. She sighed and sat down, tears brimming in her eyes. Rocking back and forth she looked at the other students.

Killa

She hurried into the corner. What was happening? Screams echoed from somewhere in the building. Killa clenched her hands. When she was afraid, she had a tendency to not be able to control her shifting. She didn't want to change. A girl turned into a leopard and jumped into the cupboard. Killa brushed her brown hair away from her face and looked down. On the floor Alice rocked. Killa squeezed her eyes shut momentarily. If the headstrong students were afraid, what was shy, cowardly Killa doing? She opened her eyes and looked to the door. She felt it coming just before her perspective changed. In her place stood a large wolf, almost as tall as the girl in her human form; the wolf was dark-furred and well muscled. A soft whimper escaped from the muzzle.

Alice

Alice smiled at the dark wolf in front of her. "I knew it" she whispered. "We'll be okay." Trying to reassure herself and the others she said "Maybe this will be like a really large drill?" Her mind screamed Dont trust them, they are only trying to get close to hurt you. Please not again. Why should you care?

Ramses

The teacher glared up at Lynn, wishing she could easily lecture her on the real safeties of staying in the corner but shook her head and jogged over to the door. She nervously gazed out the tiny window into the hall in time to see hoards of students running and screaming to the closest exit, some appearing injured. "Oh my god." She whispered to herself, and summoned a yellow glowing orb in her hand as she quickly stepped out. Her face paled significantly and the orb shifted into a large force field in time for another explosion to go off. "Out the window! Now! The forest! Don't get seen!"

Ramses was already on it. Too panicked to even consider just unlocking the window, he took an elbow to it instead. "Go!" He yelled to everyone else, swiping at the broken shards.

Lynn

Lynn lunged off the cupboard and through the window, cutting her shoulder with a shard of glass in the process
“Ouch, clumsy clumsy clumsy!!!” She snarled, but kept going. It wasn’t a bad cut anyway
It was hard to weave through the trees when all the students were doing the same thing, getting in each other’s paths
“WHAT is going on???” She wondered, worry flooding over her

Killa

She glimpsed out the cracked door to see the running students. Fear flooded her. The dark wolf reached the window in a bound. She pushed the remaining glass that stubbornly clung to the sill off by standing on her hind legs and pushing It with her front paws. It fell onto the grass. She turned to the classroom. How could they not be seen if they joined the mad run to the forest? Her instincts told her to stay in a group. Safety in numbers. She turned her dark orbs to Ramses and then Alice. They were older, hopefully more experienced. She decided to follow them. Hopefully the two stuck together. 

Alice

She nodded to the teacher and jumped out the window. "Come on! Lets go" she whispered urgently. "Ramses, help me get the younger ones to safety." She ran swiftly into the forest and beckoned for the others to follow.
