This suggestion has been marked as "Added To The Game". Thank you, Tyr, for the suggestion and to those of you who supported for making Equiverse better!
I've noticed that there's this ever-increase of unwanted horses. Searches are clogged up with $1 or super cheap horses, and adoption centers are hopping. So I propose another way to "dispose" of horses that may not be up to par with the rest of your show string.

I would just want to send mine to 'early retirement' where they would either be visible until they turn 22 or just turn 22 into my former horses.

Maybe removing the $500 fee on the RC would serve the same purpose with less coding? If the horse isn't adopted from the RC after 3 days it gets deleted. I truly think the $1 horses are a symptom of people not wanting to pay $500 each to drop their unwanted horses off in the RC.

The RC used to be free, Abbey put the fee to try to prevent people (like myself, haha) who would make 2-300 foundation horses, take the colors/confos we want, then dump them all in the RC to get deleted in a few days. It prevents players who don't have as much spending money, but still wouldn't deter me overall if I wanted to make a foundation herd again. On the old EV there was a deletion option for horses that would remove them from the game completely, I would be fine with that returning. That being said, it's not very realistic as you can't really just delete horses off the face of the earth to remove them from a pedigree, and agree that an early retirement option, where I could technically remove them from the game (but not the pedigree) and they wouldn't be taking up space. I'd especially like it when I'm buying parent sets and/or trying to keep excess mares from becoming overbred and ruining my lines. I don't like selling foals that I want to cull off, in case someone would buy them or pick them up from the RC for their stats/color/confo, then breed them extensively. I try to keep my lines relatively exclusive since the breeds I'm in are considerably overbred and inbred. A retirement option (or just some way to remove them from the game in general) would be better for me. I also don't think there should be a cap. If someone wants to buy a horse that is being sold, and then immediately deletes/retires it, they paid for it and it's theirs. It's incredibly unfortunate, and I would probably be a bit miffed myself, but if I didn't want to leave it up to other player's discretion what they did with the horse I wouldn't be selling it. All you can do is write up some guidelines you'd like them to follow and hope for the best.

Birchwood- Unfortunately, I feel like someone buying a horse to send them out of the game is just part of the game. Once someone purchases a horse, someone can't really dictate what you do with that horse. It stinks, sure, but maybe would encourage the seller to up the price that its for sale at, or just to send it out of the game.

The Rescue Center isn't clogged up, not at all. There's barely ever any of the breeds I breed in the Rescue Center, and it's better to give others a chance to get a horse that might be a lot more useful. It's much cheaper for new players to get a horse for $200 from the Rescue Center than $1000 from the Equine Center, and with the Rescue Center, you can know what the horse will look like before you get it, unlike in the Equine Center. If this was added, almost no one would use the Rescue Center, which isn't very full even now. Just because one person doesn't need it, a great horse might be deleted, instead of being giving to someone who wants it. There's nothing wrong with a lot of horses in the Rescue Center.

I was too shy to say it myself, but I 100% agree with PoniesStars.

Maybe reduce the fee to the rescue center? $200 instead of $500?

I support the "horse trader" idea. Some horse games have this feature - I find it very useful. Players use it to get rid of horses they don't want to/can't keep but which they don't want to go to other players (And don't want the other players to get access to their bloodlines, etc. I use this sort of feature myself, too.). I think it would be useful on EV as well.

Does no one remember when we had Shifty Jim? Ill have to see if i have an old image on photobucket of him lol He was basically what everyone is talking about. And people did cheat that system a bit, buying store horses and then trading it in automatically.

I think if the horse trader would become an option, it should be 250-500 for "buying" a foundation horse, that way you're only making back 1/4 to 1/2 of what you paid for it. Then there could be a stat/confo/color algorithm maybe, for how to pay for other horses. Or simply make it a flat 1k. If it's too high for non-foundations people will simply buy rescue center horses to resell to the trader. Maybe a weekly horse-sale limit of 5? No one should have too many more culled foals than that, or can do multiple weeks to cull instead.

If you are really worried about your bloodlines you can neglect horses to death - it takes time but does serve the purpose.

I'm happy to try reducing the Rescue Center fee and see if that helps.
