Whittaker Farm - Role Play

Kelsie

"Yup, I used to have horses all the time at home," Kelsie said.
She smiled at the boy and walked into the truck. She sidled over to one of the horses. He was tall and black with overo, one of Kelsie's favourite markings. She carefully lifted her hand to the horse's nose, allowing him to take in her scent and see that she was friendly. Then, she walked a little closer, grabbed his lead rope, clicked her tongue and walked him out of the dark green truck.

"Thanks!" Alex grinned at the girl who offered to help. "My name's Alex. Have you unloaded a horse before?" He watched as a more experienced girl unloaded Major. He pointed towards a tall chestnut stallion. "His name is Jack, and he's usually really good with unloading. If you go around and untie him, he'll unload himself and wait for you to lead him."

"No problem!" Kelsie smiled. "I'm Kelsie, and yes I've unloaded horses a few times before back home."

"Major seems to really like you." Alex laughed, untying a smaller grey mare with a colt at foot and leading her off. "This is Macha and Will, but I brought them mainly for grazing - my other field is a little too full at the moment."

"He is a really nice horse," Kelsie stared at Alex's horse. She patted him on the shoulder. She gently stroked Macha's muzzle.

"Thanks! I bought him from the saleyards when he was just a colt, and have had him ever since." Alex ran a hand through his hair, leading Macha to the paddock and taking off her halter, watching as Will tagged alongside his mother. He turned to Kelsie, motioning to the horse ties on the fence. "If you just tie him up over there, I'll check him for any cuts or anything that he might have gotten in the truck." Alex ventured back into the truck, pulling out a cat carrier and opening the door to the living area of the truck. "Come on, Monet." He called over his shoulder, turning and walking out of the truck with the dog hot on his heels.

"OK, cool! I'll pair you up right now. Be right back!" Cam trotted off to her home stable.

A little while later, Cam came back with 3 horses: Blue, a 10 year old Blue Roan, 14.2hh Connemara gelding for Eden; Spirit, a 6 year old Chestnut, 15.3hh Arabian mare for Kelsie and Billy, a 9 year old Black, 16.1hh Thoroughbred gelding for Alice.
"OK guys, here are your horses! Blue for Eden, Spirit for Kelsie, and Billy for Alice!"

Alice smiled at the horses. "Hello pretty boy," she murmured to the gelding. She took a quick picture of him for her mom to see. "Thank you so much Cam! I am so excited!!!"

Eden

Wow, she thought, gingerly patting Blue's nose. He is kind of sweet. She took hold of the bridle and held him so he wouldn't run away, trying to recall how to handle ponies from her first unfortunate riding lesson.

Kelsie

“Spirit is so beautiful, Cam!” Kelsie couldn’t wait to ride her... She was taller than her horse she used to ride at home, but Kelsie had grown since then. She took in Spirit’s dished face and long mane and tail and stroked her head.

"Sorry, where can I put my animals again?" Alex asked Cam, petting absentmindedly at Monet, who was standing, quietly but anxiously, next to him while he handled Marjerie's carrier. Monet was quite a timid little dog, but extremely well behaved and gentle beyond his years, which was a nice change from his cheeky little kitten, and the temperamental stallion tied up, awaiting a check over.

Cam smiled, handing their horses to them.
"You can put them in your home paddocks, girls." Cam said to them as they led them away.
"But Alex, pop them in paddock 3, the fence is already up in the middle." She said, beckoning for him to follow.

"Alright." Alex smiled, setting the cat carried down in the shade. "Myesto." He commanded Monet, and he walked over to the mare as Monet dropped into a down position right next to the carrier. Alex untied Macha, and led her over to Cam. 

(I've screwed what I'm doing up.... just, like, ignore everything I've previously said about turning Macha out pls)
(Also!! myesto is the russian dog command for stay)

Eden

Fidgeting slightly next to Blue, Eden realised her roommate hadn't arrived yet. 'Do you know when Carmen will be here?' She asked Cam quietly. 'I'm excited to meet her!'. Dragon whisked around Blue's hooves and she nudged him gently to make sure he wouldn't startle him. She couldn't wait to begin working and to receive her timetable!

She grabbed Billy's lead and led him to the paddocks. She led him out and she smiled as they walked. Undoing the halter, she gave him one final pat before closing the gate. Alice wandered over to Alex and look at his horses "Wow, they are gorgeous! Are you a professional rider?"
