Somehow I never saw this thread back when it started! I love it, and as always the mockups look amazing. This would definitely make the "plain" colors more interesting to me.

Maybe heritibility of shades could work similarly to how white markings are inherited? Breeding horses with specific white markings (or in this case, specific shades) greatly increases the likelihood that the foal will have the same, but it's not a guarantee, and different markings can crop up randomly. I'm not certain just *how* similar those would be from a coding perspective, or how parents with different shades would impact offspring, but having at least some heritibility would be nice, I think.

Either way, the variety would be wonderful!

Support! I always find it so odd for Friesian to have bright chestnut coat. In real life, they have darker coat of chestnut (more like last on right).

I would love it if it is breed-able as well since it can brings in some challenges (unless you use tweaks).

I love this idea! It would make people more excited to buy bays and chestnuts and wood probably help with the marketing issues! This should totally be added to the the game.

I support this - though it will make it trickier for the player to tell which of the horses from the EC will turn grey

I wholeheartedly support this - though it will make it trickier for the player to tell instantly which of the horses from the EC will turn grey.  This might be a good thing - stopping the decision to instantly cull/dump in RC if they are looking at the purchase just from a colour perspective and may also make them use the vet gene thing (sorry brain numbed out) to determine suitability for their herd.

I like this too, my Arabs would look great with more colour variations . Liver and dark chestnut, various greys maybe.

We really need this. I avoid certain breeds because of the lack of variety...
