Starting a new breed?

#120281 Posted on 2017-09-03 23:38:42

I have finally decided not to mainly focus on Mustangs. So I would like some help deciding what other horse breed I should start breeding. Im planning to start showing Mustangs and also buy 21 year old horses for the riding school. So please let me know what breed I should start breeding next. I was going to start breeding Chincoteague horses but I can't really find any that have 65+ plus confirmation. So I'm turning to you guys for help.

Gypsies and Quarters both have a large range of colors and patterns, if your into that.

do you want to start your own line from foundations?
if so, breeds with lots of colors are fun: gypsy vanners, quarter horses, miniature horses

i personally would love for there to be more dressage arabian breeders in EV, because the market is currently small.
if that's something you'd be interested in, i have a bunch of them i'm trying to sell ;)

paints are often overlooked here, they need help getting better horses, but there is still enough high confo praints that you can work with

Oh I know. It's for me with the paints it's like the gyspies I just don't like how they are drawn. And I would like a breed that can have solid color

I would suggest Akhal-Tekes if you like solid colors.
I could really use a dressage Teke breeding partner. The Teke community could use more breeders to be honest, I really only know three other serious breeders for them.
