[ADDED] *modify breeding formula

I support this suggestion very strongly!  As things stand, it's much, much easier for horses with pre-recode lines to win shows.  People who joined after the recode should also be able to breed horses with 0 non-specialty stats.  Obviously, it should take some effort, but it should at least be possible.

eight months post-suggestion update/musings: 

In the next month or so, I will reach the point where my dressage Arabians will stop being truly competitive in shows. 

Not through incorrect gameplay on my part (i feed the correct treats when showing, use 5/5 tack, train to max level, and hand select shows with the minimal number of entries require to gain stats) but rather because I will absolutely NEVER be able to acheive the competitive edge of a pre-recode horse with single digit non-spec stats. I’ve chosen only horses with the lowest possible non-spec stats to breed and have paired horses using the even + odd method to ensure that the breedings formula rounds down to give me that glorious ONE stat lower than the average of the parents.

This is an issue that anyone breeding from solely foundation horses will eventually run into, though those in the more popular divisions will run into it more quickly. Some players incorporate pre-recode lines in order to lower their non-discipline stats, and I think that’s a great method to boost the competitiveness of their next generation. But that’s not possible for all breeds and all disciplines. For example, those beautiful 0 non-spec pre-recode lined Dressage Andalausians will always wipe the floor with anyone who manages to get their post-recode lined horses to their showing level.

tldr; please return to a breeding formula where all players have equal opportunities to breed horses that are truly competitive
