Appaloosa Horse Club Thread

#117254 Posted on 2017-08-09 13:06:26

With a new club come new changes and a newsletter has been sent out announcing major changes to registration guidelines for our EV Appaloosas horses.

To those who did not receive the newsletter. I'd like to announce the appointment of CNS Appaloosas as club administrator. She has had many years of experience breeding Appaloosas here on EV and is familiar with the breed in the real world. She will also be available to help, if needed with registration etc..

In an effort to follow the real world ApHC Club guidelines as much as possible, we have implemented these new rules regarding registration guidelines.

NO HORSES WITH TOBIANO, OVERO, SABINO OR SPLASH GENES/COAT PATTERNS WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR REGISTRATION WITH THE ApHC.

*** please note: any horses already registered with the club, will maintain their registration, however, be advised -careful breeding choices will have to be made in an effort to breed foals that would be eligible for registration from these horses***

Also noted: Although the ApHC recognizes perlino and cremello as coat colours, it does NOT recognize champagne. We, however, have decided to continue to allow champagne horses to be registered, as the colour is available in the game and highly desired.

Changes will likely be ongoing for a bit so I will keep you all posted as they happen.

Feel free to message me with any questions, suggestions, ideas, etc..

Ok, I hope you won't mind I'll ask questions here, maybe other members have the same questions, so you won't have to answer the same several times. :)

Does new rules mean that already registered horses with such patterns will be excluded from the registry? Or this will be implemented only to horses that will be entered registration from now on?

And what about Rabicano? I didn't find anything on this gene in the documents at the links you provided in the newsletter; EV Appaloosa have this gene.

Hey hun...ty for the questions...

First and foremost...as mentioned above, ALL horses that are already registered...will keep their registration.
This new rule only applies to horses applying for registration from now on.

I havent found anything about rabicano in appys just yet. So for now, it will stay.. Im thinking we'll probably end up keeping it because is isnt really a solid pattern that cuts into the base coat colour...its more of a roaning... I will keep everyone posted if I get any info on changes to rabicano. For now, it will still be accepted.

You're most welcome dear..Ty for the questions. I plan to keep everyone up to date with any changes...

Having said that.....

For those of us who have paint patterned appaloosas, I plan on creating a club with my other account specifically for paint patterned appys. It will run exactly the same as the Appaloosa Horse Club except it will only allow registration of paint patterned appys.. ie..pintaloosa horse club..

Once clubs are sorted out and able to be created, I'll set up a special pintaloosa horse club..I know that I, myself have a handful of paint patterned horses that dont qualify for registration..

Im also a huge lover of the paint patterns on the appaloosa artwork. Im not too crazy about the paint horse artwork and Id kinda like to build a herd of paint horses, with the appaloosa horse art instead...lolz
