When to lock?

I'm going on vacation this Saturday morning and I need to know when the best time to lock is. I won't be on Saturday, so is Friday (after I've showed, cared, trained) a good time?

I would lock Friday but would not worry about showing your horses. If I remember right locking them can take them out of shows. Feed and train them then when you get back all you need to do is show them and that gives you more time to unpack and get back into your routine.

Horses get taken out of shows and their stables when divisions are locked. You actually don't have to lock your account with the manual progression though, nothing will change as long as you don't log in and progress so your horses and account will be waiting for you like it's a new day when you get back!
