New project. Input?

As the title states, I'm looking to start a new project. I've been toying around with the idea for awhile, and I think it's time to at least begin accumulating the necessary stock. I'm looking for input on which option makes the most sense longer-term. 

Option 1 |  Discipline specialty: Racing
I'd focus on racing breeds, with a small herd of each of the following.
- Thoroughbreds
- Quarter Horses
- Paint Horses
- Appaloosas
- Akhal-Tekes
- Arabians

Option 2 | Breed specialty: Thoroughbreds and Quarter Horses
I'd purchase micro herds of each so as to have stock from both breeds in each specialty, with slightly larger herds of racing TBs and western QHs.

Option 3 | Diversity: One breed for every discipline
I'd purchase small herds of one breed for each discipline (this is most similar to my current set-up).
- Racing: Thoroughbreds
- Western: Quarter Horses
- Shown Jumping: Dutch Warmbloods
- Dressage: Trakehners
- Driving: Gypsy Vanners or Miniature Horses?
- Endurance: Akhal-Tekes or Arabians

Thoughts? Given the eventual addition of cross breeding, I think Option 2 would be most valuable since TBs and QHs both have a number of recognized crossbreeds and I'd have stock for any discipline desired. But I'm not totally sold.

Herds would be incredibly small--2-4 horses--with foundation stock added each generation.

well, i'm planning on doing option 2 myself, though with only arabians, and only in endurance, racing, and show jumping (since i already have extensive dressage lines and don't see a point in doing driving since it's so uncommon). I'd like to have a variety when/if cross breeding comes around :)
